Acura unveils TL A-Spec concept
quote from canadiandriver.com:
Torrance, California - The 2004 Acura TL A-Spec concept made its debut at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. While the production TL features a wide stance, the Concept TL's track has been widened by nearly two inches. The wider track combines with custom 21-inch alloy wheels, high performance tires and wide fender flares, to give the Concept a more muscular appearance. A panoramic glass roof flows back along the length of the cockpit.
The front fascia has been redesigned with a new bumper, more angular headlight treatments, an enhanced signature Acura grille and larger lower air intakes. In the rear, the trunk lid has been restyled with an integrated down force spoiler. A new bumper featuring larger, high flow exhaust finishers and new taillight treatments has also been applied.
The TL A-Spec Concept has a 3.2-litre V6 engine with a high flow intake and exhaust as well as internal engine modifications to raise the output to over 300 horsepower. An A-Spec high performance suspension package with track-tuned shocks and springs lowers the car by one inch and enhances the TL's handling precision. Brembo brake components, including 8-piston caliper and 15-inch drilled rotors, give the TL A-Spec Concept increased stopping power.

Looks more like something Chrysler would do.

Anyway, the new A-spec resembles a Honda version of the upcoming Ford 427:

Not only back to the drawing board, minus a weeks pay too.
The brakes sound nice, but those wheels would be all bent up in about 2 minutes around here. I think the Brembo GT brakes are just fine with a set of 18s.

They could've increased the power more.

Nah man the G35 sedan is ugly. The G35C with AWD would be nice though. Of course it'd be over $40k considering a coupe with navi and almost everything stickers like $38-39k. Ugh. So overpriced.

fugly. honda really needs to learn that front wheel drive is the worst drive system there is. At least rear wheel can put more power to the ground, and you can't go wrong with AWD. Honda needs to get their shit together real quick.

guys they didnt mention ANY drivetrain specifics, theres a chance it COULD be AWD...
the front and interior could be pretty nice with a bit more work, the rear bumper and trunk though...

Not likin the front at all.
What's with the 300 H.P. FWD complaints ?? With my bolt ons i'm at approx 351 at the crank. Very drivable and zero problems so far Just extremely quick

'Big Daddy Diggler'
and also like i have stated in many posts, it was only a matter of time for acura to start releasing concept tl's with hiher horses. Give it another year or so and wil will see over 300 horses coming out of the 3.2 v6 which is awesome.

Saw it last night and went "blech" but upon a second look, I really do dig it. Just the way it is.
Rest of the pictures from the show:

And yeah, not that I'm expecting it, but Acura hasn't made any announcements on the drivetrain. Maybe it's for a good reason (hello AWD and instant #1 spot on my wishlist) or a bad one (hello torque steer). We should wait and see.
We've all invested in this company, lets give em a little trust.
