Question Acura supplier discount or similar?

Are there any such discounts for Acura? I'm really sick of the dealers trying to rape me on a 2004 TL. So I am wondering if there are any insider discount programs for Acura so I can buy a new TL or TSX for a good price & be done with it.

You trying to buy a used 04 TL? What prices are you getting with what mileage?

Or you trying to trade in your 04 TL?

Trying to buy a 2004 TL.

Avg seems to be $29k. I've had some idiot dealers refuse to budge off their $31k price tag for their 30k mile 2004 TL.

According to edmunds, $30,635 for a certified acura TL with navi is pretty good price.

$28,470 if its not certifed at a dealer.

This was for a 04 TL with 30k miles.

Try Autotrader.com ?

I've looked on all the sites.

The "certified" thing is a scam. Same as it has always been. Just another excuse for them to jack up the price.

If someone is paying $30,635 for a 2004 TL they are a moron because a new TL can be had for under $33k.

I didn't say a 100k mile warranty is worthless, did I? No, but it's not worth the markup they put on it. Plus it's not like these cars are known for being in the shop all the time.

Back on topic, thanks.

Why get a TL with 30k miles on it when you can get a brand new one for under 33k then

I know its around 4k difference but you get a longer warranty and most likely a lower rate by buying new vs used. Let alone resale value of an 06 vs 04 later down the road.

I'm obviously not paying $29-$31k for a 30k mile 2004. I am not looking to spend that much regardless is the issue.

If you're going to pay over $27,000 for a used 2004 TL, you might as well spend $32,*** and get a brand new one.

I dont see the point really. Why not spend an extra 5 grand or so? You'd enjoy a car thats 2 years newer (brand new at that) and has a warranty that'll be BETTER (note Acura's increased standard warranty for '06)

So you want to find a 04 TL with around 30k miles for under $27k at a DEALER?

There either are employee discounts, supplier discounts etc available for Acura vehicles or there are not. So which is it? I didn't start this thread to argue about what we all think is a good price or if I should waste $ to buy a new car.

You're not going to get any such discount on a USED car.

So do you want to buy from a dealer or private party? I doubt you will find any type of 'employee' discount' on a used car, as Ken said. Better off either paying extra from the dealer and maybe getting an extended warranty agreement or finding a good price from a private party.

Uh sounds like you were looking for a 2004 TL, which would be a USED one.

Theres plenty of discounts on the 06 TL but no discount program.

Whats with NJ people lately...

It makes sense now.

He was shopping for a 04 TL but it was too expensive.

So he wants to know if there is a program or big discount on a NEW TL since it would be almost the same price as the used 04 TL.

Gotcha, makes sense after you reread it a few times.

I work for Honda plus my dad works for Honda so I can get Honda employee pricing.
for example. a brand new RL with tech package no tax, no additional options,(i don't pay for dealer shipping fee), for 42 or 43 grand.
a new TL 6 speed with navi, again no additional options and i don't pay dealer shipping fee) WITH TAX ,REGISTRATION AND PLATES-32000 out the door.
most dealers hate when my dad or I come in because I tell them I'm a Honda employee or my dad a Honda employee(because immediate family can get discount), they about start crying because if they can't match the price of Honda employee price program i'll just run it through on that. I've been told by Honda of Marysville(which is where my dad bought his 05 Odyseey) that they make VERY little on Honda Employee cars.

Exactly.

GM and Ford have much higher markups on their vehicles.
