Question Acura navigation system issues

forgive me if I am in the wrong place, but I had to start somewhere..
I have been using Garmin navigation devices for some time, and although they are regionalized with data, they are very efficient, and detailed information. I have spoke with Acura about their system, and lack of detail (rural roads, speed indicator, ETA vs hours and minutes to destination, etc). They have an outside company that provides the system, and no current plans to update and make it more user friendly.. my question is are there others that have my experiences, and if we put some pressure on maybe they will upgrade..??

Navteq provides the map information (which Garmin also uses), the actual navigation hardware is usually designed and manufactured by either Alpine or Pioneer.

I fail to see why the system isn't user friendly to be honest. I see more obscure roads on the navigation system than on most maps. The ETA is almost dead accurate short of a traffic jam.

Acura have one of the best navigation systems on the market. If you think they're bad, go play with BMWs, Audis, MBs....and let us know.

Speed indicator (posted/current rate of travel) would be nice but the nav on my 4G is fine. I'll be updating it with the current cd soon.

I made a similar comment in that "Lawyer's Suing BMW" thread. What Acura lacks in features they make up for in accuracy and reliability. And that should only improve with the new disc.

The 3G TL's Navi displays the ETA and distance to travel once a destination is set.
I haven't run into issues with rural roads or even fire roads in SoCal.

More importantly, our TL's Navi seems more efficient in creating better routes, reroutes more accurately and has more specific, earlier turn warnings than our Garmin 1490.
