I don't like how the local dealerships do business. I'm looking into another brand. Great car, good engineering, except im on my 3rd transmission in less than 100k miles.

we are not haters.. 99% of us have owned CLS/TL.... and we are the victims.

I thought my CLS was like king of the road,,, well it kinda was with 260hp and touch screen navi Back in 2001.... i loved it very much regardless 2 new trannys and alternators and 100000 rattles.... (it was one of the first with bodykit and etc...) anyways...i bought G35C after my CLS was stolen..then i realized how much i have missed out.

For new cars over $30K, whatever gives me the best monthly payment to MSRP ratio is the winner. Acura wasnt giving me a good deal, not with the MDX (needed for the family), so I got an XC90. Much better pricing and a 2 year lease.

I am very pleased with my car and Acura as a whole and it will always be at the top of my list when shopping for new cars, but I will always be open to brands like Infiniti.

My dad still has his 93? Legend coupe, over 260K miles and he recentely bought a 04 RL back in 04.
Does he still have the Legend coupe and it's still running strong at 260K miles?

Yep! He came down a few weeks ago from NC, and drove the Legend. Still running pretty well. He did have some problem with it not starting if its been sitting out in the sun for a while, but not sure if he's still having that problem

Will I buy Acura again??

I WAS a big Honda/ Acura fan. From an 89 Accord to a 00 Civic SiR, 00 and 01 Acura 1.6 and 1.7 EL then an 03 TL Type-S. All great and problem-free cars.

Prior to my loan maturity, I called and inquired if I can buy extended warranty for the TL. Dealer and Honda Canada gave me 3 different stories: Yes. No. Yes, but, no,but....

I felt that when I indicated I was not jumping into another new car, the treatment changed to one that is provided to an idiot on the street. SO the return customer thing was down the drain.

HCFI was a real pain to deal with, they treat you as if you need to go thru counselling. Purchasing the car(s) was great experience, it's the after-sale experience that sucks big time. I got their message to "take my business elsewhere".

IMO, Honda should "evolve". They should now look at how BMW, Lexus and Infiniti deals with their customers, old and new. Not just the new ones that they can take money from.

Acura gave us a POS tranny.
They refuse to fix the transmission.
They pass the problem over to us after a certain amount of time.
Their customer service is ass.

And I'm supposed to jump at the chance to go through that again? Heck noooo.

I sold my CLS to Carmax this past Friday and it was just a high sigh of a relief. I'm now driving a 1986 E-class thats two years younger than me and still on the ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION.

The only thing Acura that I'm loyal to is AcuraZine. I'm saving my pennies to buy a house next year. A year later I'll be in a 335 or 350z.

* I had to resist buying a M5 that I saw at Carmax for $30k.......omg it was hard to resist!

Never have had a Nissan/Infiniti at all, but my folks have had an I35 and G35. Both were exceptional cars with great motors, but just ok interiors.

Do Nissans/Infinitis last as long as Hondas/Acuras? How is the VQ motor and engine hold up in durability compared to the VTEC engines?

I love Honda and Acura. Went from 97 Civic to 99 Prelude to 04 TSX. When I buy a new car, my first preference will always be a Honda or Acura. However, I'm thinking that down the line, I might have to buy a wagon, and currently, there are no real wagons in the Honda/Acura lineup. (bring the TSX wagon to the US please)

from what i've seen, most late model Nissans/Infinitis are as reliable as Hondas/Acuras.

The pre-Ghosn era Nissans weren't popular for other reasons (styling, underpowered, etc.), but I don't recall reliability being a problem. As for the VQ engine, I don't think there is any reliability problems...considering how many models use the VQ engine and how many are sold we'd definitely hear about it if there were problems, similar to Honda's tranny problem.

Based on that long term dependability study, Infiniti is ahead of Honda and Acura, but Nissan is far behind. I'm surprised that Buick, Lincoln, and Cadillac are way on top.

maybe it's based on stats of old people... they don't ever go anywhere, their cars don't ever get used

I had a used Acura (2.5TL). I loved it so much but hated the auto tranny. Now I own an 06 Honda Accord (6MT coupe). I absolutely love the way Honda cars are executed. It was the best thing in that price range for my money and the best all around car in that price range (best balance of power/efficiency/luxury/ride).

I can't say the same for Acura.

I will say that I'd buy a Honda (civic, new accord, s2000) but I'm done with Acura also.

My family used to be a hardcore Mazda family. We started with an '89 929, Millenia S, various 626's and 2 Tribute SUV's. The Millenia was a fantastic car up until the supercharger went and the car would blow oil. All of the other Mazda's were good but they kind of lost all of their soul and luxury when Ford bought them so we moved on. We're now on Honda/Acura and overall, my entire family is thrilled.

My Dad has an '05 TL, my sister has an '03 Accord, I have an '04 TSX and my mom is soon to have either a Pilot or MDX within the next month. All of the cars have been reliable and given us zero problems. All of our purchases were influences from me and I've since become a HUGE Acura fanboy. When people ask me what I'll drive when I get older, my instant answer is always "Acura." As long as they stay on the same track as they are on right now, I'll be a buyer for life.

Ditto!

Acura needs to show us more than clay pics and artist renderings. I've been looking at the G35 recently because of no patience for Acura's 4G TL debut.

My 02 TL is my first Acura but I wouldnt say it is my last. Hopefully the next gen TL will have the SH-AWD package and I am still hoping one day I will get my hands on an NSX

There should be one more choice in the poll. Not sure how you would word it, but something between I love my Acura but am open to other cars and No more Acura's for me.

Right now there is nothing in Acura's lineup that does anything for me. I loved my 02 TLS when I had it, but it was sold last year and as much as I miss it... I don't miss it. The fact that Hyundai's trucks are starting to look like Acura's from certain angles kind of reinforces the fact that I don't miss their lineup much. Right now the wife and I are big Audi and Porsche fans. I LOVE driving her A4... and after almost a year and a half, the car has been flawless.

So right now I am not brand loyal, but neither of us have any Acura's on our short list as our next rides. So b/c of that I voted no more Acura's for me which was the closest I could get to how it is.

Another thing about Acuras and Hondas I don't like is the lack of torque. In my other thread I was getting tailgated and at first I wanted to speed up, but it took forever for the TSX to move up the speedometer when I hit the gas pedal. Reason I assume is lack of torque. Felt like the TSX was all show and no go. I also had the TL and MDX as loaners and when I floored them too, the lack of torque was apparent.

On the other hand, I drove my dad's G35 and that thing is so responsive and took off quickly due to having a lot of torque. Same thing I tried my friend's IS300 and that thing also took off quickly. I don't know why Honda doesn't put more torque in their cars

After 3 transmissions (on 4th now) , my door handles peeling, my clock light burning out, my CV boot ripping twice, the terrible brakes/rotors (considering the CLs weight) and the damn noises this thing belches out while driving down the road...Hell No! I have a whole list of other little things but can't remember at the moment what they are... I should be dumping the CL next week , I love SUVs and I don't have a far commute - so I will be looking
