Acura charging $25 to transfer CPO warranty???

I've been talking with a possible buyer for my car today. I gave him my VIN# so he could verify with Acura that my car still has the Acura CPO warranty. He verified what I already knew, but he told me that he has to pay $25 for a warranty transfer fee? Does this make sense?

I'm actually looking for another CPO Acura and very curious about this also. I am almost positive our Acura CPO warranties covered our vehicles the additional 12mo/12K miles B2B and 7yr/100K miles regardless of the amount of owners in between this time frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've run across 3rd party extended warranties that have a transfer fee, so I'm not surprised that the car dealers are starting to add the same to a CPO warranty transfer.

I truly believe it is like this.

Very good point. I guess I will try to contact the local Acura dealer here and see what they say.

Thanks for the inputs!

Someone has to do the work to transfer the info. No such thing as a free lunch.

I had the regular extended warranty on my TL and I gave it to the new owner. He had to pay to switch it IIRC.

Thanks for the info! I just figured the $1200-$1500 we pay for the certification process through Acura covered all fees associated with the warranty process.

Yeah, I want to say when I sold my car a few years ago the buyer had to pay a transfer fee to get the warranty over to his name. I offered to pay but he covered it...

$25 bucks is nothing.....what's the big deal...either you pay it or he does...it's not a deal breaker by any means.

I just bought my CPO TL from a private seller a little over a month ago, and I had to pay $50 to transfer the warranty.

^ No, you pay the company that administers the warranty. Should be contact info on your warranty paperwork...
