Accord to Pick up?

Looking to trade the cpo'd pos '10 Accord for a pick up.. Finally got title today so open to any suggestions.
Preference is Dodge Ram or Raptor (a bit pricey but definitely sweet truck)..

Never bought a pick up & rarely buy American, before anyone says anything don't dislike American vehicles just never had the desire to purchase any besides my dad's work cars..

So yeah umm anyone with experience on pick ups please help, what to look out for what brand is more bang for the buck, quality anything please help also open to other brands/suggestions.
Goal is to pick up in a few weeks.
Thanks!

American cars have come a long way. That said, one thing they could always make was trucks. Even when the cars were sliding, the trucks were holding strong.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. Be advised that the insurance on a Raptor for a 19 y/o is going to be insane. I'd get a nice F150 King Ranch and be done with it. Sweet truck, tons of aftermarket support, and plenty reliable. My buddy has owned a truck all 3 (Ram, Silverado, F350) and he likes the Ford the best. Best bang for the buck, good on gas, etc. If I got a pickup, I'd likely go Ford myself.

+1 You can't go wrong with any of them. I'd throw the Tundra in there as well.

My insurance is already close to 8k per year lol.. So guess Raptor's out the window.

Idk I've always disliked japanese pick ups imo its not their thing.

I forgot to mention I'd also be towing a car using a trailer with it thats why I can't get a wrangler as much as I'd like to.. Which brand do you guys think has the best incentives?

Rams have rear coils so if you tow with one it will sag like a bitch. I think next year they're using air suspension.

Find a 2012 F-150 FX4... Awesome truck with either the Ecoboost or 5.0, and deals can be had now that 2013's are rolling in.

That f150 looks really nice I think I'm sold on the f15 fx4 with a few options it'll be perfect. Hopefully I can find a '12 in white close to how I want it nearby.

The '07+ Tundra is a pretty stout truck that will go toe to toe with any of the domestic offerings. For me, it'd be between the F-150, Ram and Tundra.

A STOCK Tundra did just tow the 75 ton Shuttle Endeavor across the 405 overpass.

It was pretty fucking impressive.

Yeah I wouldn't rule the Tundra out just because it's Japanese. Reliable, powerful and huge aftermarket. I'd go that route if you're looking to buy new.

Yeah, I only mentioned American brands b/c OP did.... but yes, I would buy a Tundra in a heartbeat. I have an FJ Cruiser and the thing is bulletproof... so I would not hesitate on a Toyota truck.

The Nissan's aren't bad either... but I'd go Toyota over Nissan.

As much as I love the frontier and titan....they are dated.

Same way I feel about GM...I know the Silverado is readying a new model....but the current offerings are just too damn old.

Tundra is getting a little long in the tooth for me as well.

The Ford and the Ram are the two newest/freshest models out....and I was very impressed riding in both the 5.0 and ecoboost F150....and I love the new 2013 RAMs....the refresh on the interior is just tits.

Of your choices get the Raptor if you can. My buddy has one and its such an incredible truck its not even funny. It rides better than most cars too. And if you get the crewcab the back seat has more room than you will know what to do with. That or the F150 with the ecoboost engine. There is a ton of potential with that motor.

Don't get me wrong I sound stupid lol but I just don't like the looks for the Tundra & it doesn't have that pick up feel that American pickups do. I like the new rams pretty much for the exhaust, and interior. The exterior doesn't seem to have changed much in my opinion. The raptors are sexy but the way I'd like it is close to 55k & insurance probably will kill me. So most probably f150 w/ ecoboost unless I get a better deal on a ram or something.. Should I lease or finance, monthly payment is somewhat a main factor + I have yet to keep a car for more than year traded zdx exactly at a year lol.

Ford leases are ridiculous. its always some high monthly payment with 4K down.

One of the contractors at my job has a white '12 RAM 1500.. man that thing looks & sounds amazing.

That ford F150 FX4 is pretty bad ass too, though.

Just go with whatever is more practical. You don't want to be broke every month just to be able to pay the car note/insurance.

Yeah I noticed that which made no sense to me...
A friend of mine's giving me a great deal on a '13 Accord fully loaded for a lot less than the ford monthly payments I've seen.

That's my color haha! & yeah + there's gas & everything it adds up so trying to stick to a budget most probably will be ford or ram if worst comes to worst 13 Accord time!

Who drives what? Do you drive the TL all of the time or the Accord?

Are these cars in your household that you share? I don't think I'd want another four door sedan if well I already have one.

Tl's mine. Accord's my sister's but I'm planning to trade it & take the new car & let her drive the tl for a few till I can find a decent car out the auction (I've got my dealer license so yeah). Then eventually both would be my cars.. Well the pickup would be work/fun and tl I really want to make into a once in a while car. & after seeing my old love the zdx today I kind of miss it & might want that Idk I'm all over the place but my range is 30-40k for a car

having owned every single one of them...

haha. jk.

If you cant get the Raptor, get the ecoboost FX4. keep in mind that you can not put an exhaust on it. it will sound like complete shit.

ecoboost has great performance and mileage compared to tthe 5.0 or 6.2.

I bought my FX4 in June 11' and traded it in for the Raptor july this year. Put 30k miles on it and only lost about 5k on the truck. The sticker was 49 but i picked it up for 39.

There are always good deals on F150s. IMO they're the best looking trucks in their class right now.

I have over 15 friends with the newer model F150s, including Raptors and every single one of them is very satisfied.

This was my ecoboost with rims and tires.

If you do end up with the Ford. Get X-Plan or give this guy a call, maybe he is close by to you?

Damn that looks awesome thats pretty much how I'd want it minus tow mirrors.
How did you get it for 39! Please do tell lol
How much was the ecoboost out the door? How much was the raptor out the door? Trying to be smart this time & see how much everything will cost me & then pick so thanks

Well NY premiums are high, me being 19 with a accident that was my fault & my sister just turned 23 so we have our factors lol but giving up cars/ not being under policy isn't exactly a option go to college about 20-30 mins from home not much public transportation to there.

Sooo my old zdx is being sold for the price I traded it in for with 2k more miles should I? shouldn't I?
As of now my 2-3 definite options are zdx , f150 fx4 or raptor!!!
Which one would you guys suggest?
If I buy the zdx I'll be buying a older pickup for a few thousand out the auction for work.. So thoughts?
