Accord Crosstour help...

Since the Crosstour owner's forum looks some what dead, figured I'd try here too. Yesterday I went out looking for a used Crosstour EX-L w/Nav for my sister. We came across this one http://www.scotthonda.com/all-invent...ions=compliant Which happened to be exactly what she was looking for even down to the color combo but the miles seemed high at 55k. I took a look at the vehicle and it was pretty much immaculate, the seats looked like they were never sat on. The paint had no noticeable blemishes and the engine sounded good. The price listed on the web was 21,391 and I told the salesman I thought that was high considering the miles. He offered to come down $700 bringing the price to 20,691. I still thought its high but he giving me the ole "anymore and we'll be losing on this deal". We ended up telling the dealer we wanted some time to think since they had closed a hour earlier anyway, so there was no rush. I came home and looked up the value on NADA's website. Based on the the miles, equipment and the car being a CPO the value given was $22,375. But what's weird to me is I'm seeing 2011's with less miles going for not much more, so I don't give those numbers much respect. I guess were I'm going with this is, when you negotiate on a used vehicle what source can you use for trying to get leverage on pricing? It seems like you're at the dealers mercy on if he's trying to lower the price or not. For all I know he paid 15k for the car and put 1k into and is trying to make over 4k on it. Can I ask him to show me what he paid for it?

Also does anyone have any info on the 2010 misfire issue with these? I just learned about it today and I'd like to get more info. I don't want to see my sister put herself in a bad spot. Thanks for any help you guys can provide

The car was sold/registered on 01/23/2010 and offered for sale on 03/07/2014, so this is a 4 year old car which averaged about 13,800 miles a year. 55,475 miles isn't really considered high; It's average.

Sure, you can ask what they paid for it. You can ask anything you want. There's no harm in doing so. But I highly doubt the dealer will tell you the truth. Why would they? Doing so gives away their leverage and reveals how much they'd be making on the sale.

If he came down to $20,691, then that isn't too bad for a CPO. But since it's a Crosstour and not very many people want those, they may have a harder time moving that than an Accord or Civic, so you might be able to use that to your advantage.

I'd say you should be able to knock that $20,691 price down by at least another $1,000-$1,200, if not more.

As for the class action lawsuit:

Thx for responding... Yea the CT is definitely not for everyone. But she happens to like it and it's reasonable for what it comes with. Now I just need to determine wheter or not the engine problem are big enough to scare us off.
