A7 is just a fantastic looking car.

I'd go with A7.

Just did some reading on that 640d. It is literally the same engine as found in the 435d and 535d.

Except in North America. Our 535d is a rebadged overseas 530d. Same thing with the X5. And a while back I discovered the 328d is actually a 320d.

I voted for A7. I test drove a CPO 2013 last weekend. It was the 3.0T but damn that car is a nice drive and looks beautiful. I really like the hatch and with the rear seats down, it has quite a bit of room back there. I don't think you can go wrong with that.

This may sound silly, but have you test-driven the A7?

Assuming that the drive is equal to that of the 535, I'd go with the A7 as well.

I need to go test drive each back to back. I'm a long-time BMW owner (330xi, 335xi and 530xi) over the last 14 years so I know what the Beemer will be like pretty much. The A7 is a total crap shoot as I've never driven one.

So what the dealer say about the E61?

Or just ready for change?

$1500 for repairs (springs, control arms, tie rod ends) and labor. Dealer felt bad for me and gave me 50% off total bill as I just dumped $3400 on the car 2 weeks ago. Car drives like new.

On another note: I stopped in to the local Audi dealer and drove an A7 Prestige gas powered car. Wow, is that car nice. I then got in an A6 TDI to get an idea of how much snap the diesel has-holy shit is all I can say. 428 lb ft of torque really speaks volumes when you wanna go somewhere with no hesitation.

A7 purely on looks. I hear the electronic steering in the BMW makes it feel morelike a luxocruiser than a BMW. Any experts able to confirm?

It is not as bad as Luxocruiser. But definitely not as good as the BMW we are familiar with.
With that being said, it is still better than 90% of the competition.

Before F30: there is only 1 mode, the BMW mode
F30 and on: There are 4 mode and default mode is comfort. So you will have to change it to Sport+ (BMW mode) yourself.
