I see you lost all trans fluid from the tail.

Is this something that you're doing?

Justin,

That's a great car... one my first except mine was kind of a maroon color with T-tops. IIRC, the shifter was on the floor and not the steering column. But I think it was an 1985 SS.

The 305 CID was some big stuff at the time. It's funny that my TSX weighs more and has more ponies than the Monte Carlo. But still, when the 4 barrel carb opened up, it was one unique sound.

What are you putting back in her? Also your paint still looks good for all this time. Those paints seem to be better back then probably cause of the lead.

My friend (pictured above) called me and asked to help him take out his motor.
without hesitation, I came over to help!

As soon as the trans fluid spilled, he was like...."now we know what to do for next time."

Nice! yes, the shifter is on the steering column and it originally came with a 305.
the engine you see is a GM crate 350.
He had just put the 350 in this year. BUTT he regrets it!!!! LOL because my Acura is faster.

Also, wit a carbureted engine, its very hard to get it running right ALL the time. I know he had trouble timing it. also, the spark plug wires kept getting melted by the headers.

the car has been stored in a garage for 30 years.
the paint looks awesome!

He wants to do an LS swap.
butt. he'll have to sell this set up first and find a junked LS motor.
the LS swap would be so badass!

I would have loved to have had one of those. The Grand National was pretty pimp too.

I almost bought a car pretty much exactly like that back around 1986 or '87. White with blue badges/decals. I think it was an '84. IIRC, owner wanted about $11k.

Wish I had bought it. OTOH, if I had, I probably would've run it into the ground and it would be in scrap heap somewhere.
