what i think is kinda funny though about it is when they say this...

the wheels are 28 pounds! i guess that is ultra lightweight for a german car. Imagine if they tried putting a set of volk 19x9 wheels on it, it'd probably weight about 5 or more pounds lighter per wheel and probably improve the performance even more.

I just watched the Top Gear Carrera GT Video, and the Carrera GT 0-60 is 3.9 seconds!
The fact that this car can match the porsche carrera GT is a great feat and shows the true power of this car.
make you wonder what they could do if they did the following to turn it into a track car...
1. strip the interior and get rid of unnecessary pieces
2. change the rims to lightweight rims (volks or another lightweight wheel)
3. remove all glass and replace it with lightweight lexan or some other alternative.
4. replace body part with carbon fibre alternates (hood, trunk, fenders, bumpers, etc..)
Don't you guys think this car could seriously give a lot of other cars out there a serious ego kill on the track? shyt even on the road for that matter.

Ugh... if you are going to strip the car of everything that makes it a luxury car with a monster engine, why not save yourself tens of thousands of dollars and build a Mustang or another muscle car that will run even faster? those were luxury cars so why did they turn them into race cars? just cuz it's a luxury car doesn't mean it's not worthy of being tracked. and it's not always just a money issue. it's about pushing the envelope and seeing what can be done. hell isn't that why we are fixing up our cl's to see what it can do? isn't our car more of a luxury car? do you own a cl? and if you do, why didnt' you buy a mustang then and fix it up instead to save money?

You totally missed my point. Jaguar, BMW, Fiat, etc... all GT RACE CARS. This Audi is a high-end luxury performance car (i.e., STREET CAR). When you strip it down to everything that makes it a "high-end luxury" car you are left with just a performance car. 600hp is 600hp. You can make that power in 1,000s of different cars. Why would you want to strip this car down to nothing but a shell and its motor? That's not why this car was built.
I do own a CL and it is modded, but I'm not trying to be the fastest car out there. Something you seem to have mistaken in your rant. Yet, you want to strip down the RS6 to beat everything out there. That's not the purpose of the car. I didn't want to buy a Mustang and mod it because a Mustang didn't suit what I was looking for in a car. The CL-S did. It was a "entry-level" luxury coupe with decent power from the factory. By adding mods I am bringing this car to its fullest possible potential without GOING OVERBOARD. I could take the CL and strip it down and do everything you said you wanted to see done with the RS6 and have a really really fast car.
Not trying to piss on your parade, but I didn't understand your reasoning for stripping a car of its soul just to make it faster. It is pointless.
