Gorgeous scenery. Looks like a fun drive. Wonder if they stayed at the Overlook Hotel (actually the Timberline Lodge)...how could you be there and not stay there? That road is unmistakable.

I'm the Firestarter
Obviously it's ford-sponsored. There was a big discussion about this on Audizine, and over there predictably the angle was "well duh, it's a turbo engine vs naturally aspirated at high altitude, of course the turbo will win".

Couple of things:
1) Shame on Automobile and Motor Trend for being involved in an Infomercial.
2) That's not the highest trim MKS as far as I can tell
3) The MKS in dark colors looks amazing. I've seen several and I loved it. But the car should be priced like a G35x and not a 335x.
Glad to see it's a good car but it's a lot of money.

I challenge Lincoln/Ford to do this test on a track closer to sea level...... everybody knows that a naturally aspirated engine is not going to have as much power at 12,000 ft.! I bet there would be a 8 second or greater gap with the v-8's all in the lead

Nice video, pretty neat drive!!
I had a rental MKS about two weeks ago when I was on a business trip and I did get a little attached to the car. I had a black fully loaded model and I have to admit, Lincoln really stepped it up this time. Quiet, smooth and techy it's definitely a force to be reckoned with in it's segment. While I'm not saying I would get one over a 550, I would love to try out the new 355HP Ecoboost version.

I watched this on Speed Channel the other day (and recorded it on DVR for some reason)
anyways: 550i = 360HP, 3950lbs;; Jaguar XF: 385HP, 4020lbs;; Mercedes E550: 382HP, 3900lbs;; Maserati Quattroporte: 400HP, 4100lbs;; MKS Eco: 355HP, 4200lbs
MKS has the worst power to weight ratio of the bunch, so it was the elevation that put it in 2nd as mentioned above or the car is nicely balanced weight-wise or combination there of. but I love how no matter what, you cant touch BMW's 50/50 weight distribution!! and we also see how unbalanced the Maserati is which is a shame.
but in the end I do have respect for that ecoboost engine now even tho that MKS needs to lose some serious pounds but I could see the potential of it being a real contender for a sports sedan in the near future: even at normal altitudes...
It was an exciting race nonetheless and those magazines were only doing what they do best: covering a good story.
