Curious as to whether or not you have or are going to reach out to Acura and let them know? And then would be curious as to what if anything, they say or do. :dunno:

Even then I see you maybe getting a new Acura or driving the RDX, keeping the TSX, putting a new motor in it, and logging the difference in milage accordingly...

Honestly if be more worried about other things braking, such as serviceable components...

I reached out to them thru their facebook page. If anything comes of it, I'll let you guys know.

I nearly hit a deer last month, and two dogs the other week, just a mile apart... Now I know why that old Toyota Highlander was meant to go behind me and didn't pull out ahead of me, he had 10x enough time to, good luck avoiding a dog in the road in a Highlander...

exactly what I did. as in, engine failed, swapped a used one and i'm still here, for less than a brand new car...

I certainty doubt repairs on the TSX will ever exceed the cost of a monthly payment on a new Acura TLX or whatever you would get, plus you're so invested at this point that TSX must be like a second skin...

So the big question is...how soon until we reach the next 500,000 miles?!

Could be the first ever million-mile Acura?!

So after half a million miles of seat time, is there anything you wish would have been done differently in the design or manufacturering of the car? And/or, what did they get exactly right?

For example, I'm firmly convinced the steering wheel audio buttons (volume / channel / source) are in exactly the right place, and that the cruise control button layout is abysmal.

Do you have anything that impresses you or just grinds your gears after all that time?

PS. You're only like 120k miles away from 1,000,000 km! Have you considered switching the odometer to metric and taking a road trip to America's Hat?

Excellent question! I need to think about it for a couple days tho. Nothing jumps out at me at the moment. But I'll give it some thought. If you addressed this, my apologies, but I wonder about the health of the engine. For example, have you done a compression test, or does it burn oil? This is just a matter of curiosity for me, because I believe that that car served you well, and you got full value +, when you look at how much you paid, and how much you drove the car.

So, another thing that I was thinking, do you think it will run, for, let's say, 100k miles more?

It's good to know that Honda makes (some) engines that will go 1/2 million miles +. Now, you got me wondering if anybody's ever gotten 1/2 a million miles out of a V6?

We have a member here with 600k on a 2G TL, though I don't think that was all on 1 engine...Not sure how much was on which.

Kind of. I dont have a spreadsheet, but about a year ago I was asked something similar & added stuff up over the years. It also includes some things I had to replace due to collision accident, so take it with a grain of salt. (scroll down to the Mclaren, if you want to get right to it)

Another excellent question! I was actually thinking about that today while driving around. Having a compression test done & a Dyno for HP. I may pull the trigger because i'm also curious. I'll make some calls and see what I can schedule... I'll do a blog post with the results when I get them done.

About the Dyno and Compression test, from my experiences, Honda engines tent to stay very strong with age and milage and I'm convinced they make the best engines out there, I think you will be happy with the results, do it!!!

Not sure on the V6 side but there was a 1990 accord that hit 1 million miles and an Insight that was over 900,000 the last I checked. Honda used to maintain a "mile makers" website for people who logged 100k plus, it seems they don't maintain it anymore.

I was shooting for a quarter million miles on my rig, I made it and am at 281 now. 500k is a goal now but at 12-15k a year it's a long way off still.
