3G RL transmission into 3G Odyssey
Unfortunately My Acura Rl was in an accident/totalled, engine and trans are fine. Shortly after the accident I bought an 08 Honda Odyssey and recently the motor slipped timing and the valve nicked the piston so it is in need of a motor swap knowing that the acura parts are worth a good bit and are rare to find I held onto the car and plan on using the 3.7 from acura in the odyssey in place of the j35. One issue I’ve ran into is that the bell housing is different from j37a2 to j35a7 I really want to know if I put the transmission from the rl into the odyssey will I have a significant power trail loss due to not having a rear diff anymore or driveshaft or if someone could help me find the bellhousing adapter from gen2 bellhousing to gen1 so I can use original odyssey trans thank you in advance for any advice and help
So sadd😭
J37 since pic is out of engine bay
New odyssey now has blown motor needs swap

Second, I recently built a j36 (combining 2011 j37a2 engine parts and j35z3 block) for my 8th gen accord. So I have a bit of experience with the RL motor.
Besides the bellhousing difference, the j37a2 has a oil pan mounted crank sensor(37500R40A01). If your oddyssey has the oil pump mounted crank sensor, you will have to transfer that over.
But, the bigger issue will be controlling a non vcm engine with a vcm ecu and harness. I won't go into the details on that. But, chances are it will trigger faults, because the j37a2 is not equipped with vcm.
I would suggest selling the j37a2 and rebuiling the van or finding another vehicle with a j35z3 or j35z6 powerplant.
