350Z vs. 6spd w/headers and intake

Who would win? I would think this would be a pretty close match with the Z possibly coming out in front? If this topic has been beaten to death already then I apologize.

I don't know. In Motor Trend, the Z put up some pretty fast numbers. 0-60 in 5.49. 1/4 at 13.95 @ 102.25. Have any modded 6 speeds been to the track and put up trap speeds higher?

I can't wait to get my headers and intake in and then I will be hunting for a Z.

I put up a trap higher, 14.0@107...damn traction, or lack there of, the best i pulled N/A was a 14.2@99, so who knows...ive run one Z and pulled pretty good, 1-2cars w/out spray, so from a roll hell yeah, but it could be different from a stop.

I'm setting up a race for this spring I'll have it on tape. I plan on having SSR rims, headers and intake for the race.

CL has to many disadvantages.

1) weight close to 200 lbs.
2) FWD compared to RWD much better unless you have comptech with the rake helps a bit. Stiffer Koni setup for the rear also good.
3) wheels and tires. 350 is running some of the best wheels and tires on the market.

These are some of mods that will make a tremendous difference on a CL-S 6 sp.

1) wheels SSR Comps. or Volks in 17" the lighter the better with some Toyos T1 in 225/45 ( lowers unsprung weight)
2) Comptech springs with Konis (keep the car from tilting back at takeoff especially if u stiffen the rear)
3) Headers with Intake (increase at least 25 hp to the wheel ...25lbs less than stock )
4) Im sorry but if u want to compete u have take out the heated, 6 way adjustable, fully motorized front seats. The 350 Z doesn't have these......Why do u think?.... put in some Sparco 38lbs adjustable seats. I bet the CL-s will be weighing a little over 3300 and will be able to take the 350 z easily sub 14 second 1/4 all day. Granted you will probably be spending more than the 350Z but who cares right.

a more intresting race would be(and I've beaten this to death too), G35C auto vs cls auto, and G35C6 vs Cls6! luxury coupe to luxury coupe seems like a better match! the Z is too much on the sports car side! What we have to go against it in that price range is the S2000, which can definitely hang with the Z! IN the twisties, the S2000 walks its chubby ass!

Yes, compare 350Z to CL-S is definitely not fair. There's no way CL-S can beat it in straight, cornering or braking. Its even cost less than CL-S.

But compare S2k to 350Z is stupid. S2k is a roadster and 350Z is a sport coupe. It should compare to Boxster S, MZ3, Z4, or SLK AMG.

Actually the 350 cost the same at bottom price but ends up ALOT more at the top price for the 350z.

With the mods Scooter has, he can do 0-60 5.29 sec. I do it in 5.88 in the 1/4 with my 1/4 time. And cartest backed that up with it also.
