I might be alone on this one but I prefer the interior of the Z. Its plain and simple, where as the G35 has poor quality buttons (instead of knobs) and the "aluminum" is ALWAYS scratched up. Neither can hold a candle to the beemer tho.

I drove the G35 coupe not sedan and felt the Z was a tad quicker and handles slightly better too. Sounds better too IMO.

No Aero package
Neither can hold a Candle to the beemer - meaning the beemer interior was nicer than both

I'd say 330 for fun/pleasure, but not DD. but one of the posts were correct about having tranny problems ie: sensors, shifting etc. auto only tho, the E46 m3' are notorious for it.

The cost of the parts themselves are expensive compared to a Honda. And many of those cars are designed to be fixed at a dealer who has the proper tools or computers to get the jobs done. Most do it yourselfers are not equipped to do the maintenance on these cars.

Not to get too off subject, but people need to remember how much better the "luxury marque brands" are at customer service. ( My recent experience at Acura further solidifies this experience)So, taking your new BMW or Lexus to a dealer during warranty is a better experience. BMW usually offers great service plans for very little money. I have multiple experiences with BMW that include free oil changes, wiper blades, blown speakers, etc etc. Of course this all depends on a new car.
Also, private shops that specialize in BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Audi do exist. I also have direct experience with one. The service was impecable. Although the parts were still very expensive(they do give you and aftermarket option), the labor was much more reasonable than a dealer.

Hell, I found a Dodge dealer that treats me as well any luxury dealer Ive been to, again with the exception of Lexus.

I'm sure there are outliers. I have yet to have a good experience with Toyota, Acura, Honda. Multiple dealers mind you, maybe its bad luck. With 3 BMW dealers and 2 Lexus dealers, they have all had perfect service, exceeding my expectations. Again, maybe it's me. And when I say service, I include service plans for the duration of any warranty.

In reliabilty from top to bottom and most expensive on parts from top to bottom..

I think you have to consider both together.
If a car is unreliable but parts are cheap, it might end up costing you more than a reliable car with expensive parts.
Any German car is going to have parts prices that will turn you white. Even VW to some extent.
So if BMW is the most reliable of the three (in theory) then go with a BMW. Same for Audi or Mercedes.

i agree...put a different head on the motor, hondata and boost it or build the motor...the K24 has a LOT of potential..do more research..i think u getting a Z4 seems like mid-life crisis...
I have a G coupe now but if i had a choice, I would've got the M3 i wanted...but like most ppl here know that maintenance is no joke...keep in mind that YOU'RE paying for the car and maintenance, not other ppl...good luck
