350Z Story (Not a race)

So I know someone who is thinking of getting rid of his 2-month old 350ZX.

Let me set the stage a bit so you know what kinds of cars he likes to drive. I'm not really sure about the years, and I'm sure I'm missing a few cars, but this is the basic idea:

Pontiac GTO
Datsun 280Z
'85 Toyota Supra
Lexus SC400
Lexus GS400

He gave the GS to his wife because he felt that it was fast and luxurious, but not sporty enough, and he got a 350ZX Touring (Auto, no navi).

Long story short, "it feels too much like a go-kart", and I'm guessing the lack of luxury plays in too though we haven't talked specifically about that.

So the questions is, would you try to work a deal to give up an 01 CLS (Auto w/ Navi) for an 03 350ZX (Auto w/o Navi)?

Well - I sat in one this weekend and I can say without a doubt--NO!

The ergonomics blow - There is just no luxury--Only good thing that I really liked is how everything was setup under the hood--It just appeared that all common fluids under the hood were easily accessible and it just looked cool...But they have the speakers right in the drivers ear-Behind the drivers seat--This strange silver bar which goes horizontal across the car--The glove box is positioned oddly and all around the car seemed shoddy on the interior--

All around I just think the CL-S is the better buy for the money

ps - Sticker on this model was 36k

Rediculous!

I found the ergonomics to be excellent, any control you need is with in easy reach and located logically. Climate control and radio can be adjust with out moving your hand off of the shifter. The glove box on the other hand. It would be bad if you got pulled over with a passenger and they have to get out of the car to get your insurance info out of the storage box. I found the location of the rear speakers pretty good especially the sub that just thups away 6 inches from my back. The rear strut bar could get in the way, but its a sports car 95% of owners wont try to fit a bike in the back. According to nissan it is possible to fit 2 sets of golf clubs under the strut bar(I have no idea how).

Not disagreeing with you, just my opinion.

Good replies, and I was leaning the same general direction.

Even if I could make it work I would miss the luxury in my car.
And in an auto format I think I'd still feel like I was missing something in the performance department from the Z.

Still an intriguing question, and I think I would still have trouble deciding if a deal could be worked out.
