350Z in sport compact this month

have you guys seen this month's sport compact? shooot! I wish I waited for a Z now... it's too bad they're selling for an arm and a leg over MSRP... it's just so much faster than my 6sp CLS... 14.0 flat?!?!? and that's bone stock... damn our FWD as well... oh well I guess that just means I have to save up to make it faster... maybe with the difference in money of Z and CLS I can get a supercharger someday

yeah...but did you also see the loads of aftermarket companies trying to break into the 350Z market even though it just recently became avail for the general public. The R&D effort to create the mods were insane. They were literally limited to hours to create a big-brake kit, coilovers, and exhaust...

plus it looks like owners will be able to throw some seriously dished wheels. I think they were running a 18X8.5 w/ a 35mm offset and they had a crap load of room left to play with.

Actually it was 30mm offset for both front and back, and they were running 17" with the 245s easily fitting the front

A couple of things:

1- Comptech makes many accessories. We'll soon have a supercharger. AEM, INJEN, INGALLS, Eibach, H&R, HKS, weapon-r all have aftermarket parts for our cars.

2- 350z is performance coupe from the ground up. CLS is a luxary coupe that has a nice engine and upgraded suspension.

yup

I'd expect to see a supercharger for the 350z too... And I'm sure countless other things.

comptech is the only one that makes POWERFUL accessories for our car... nobody else makes jack for it... 350Z is gonna have a buttload of parts in no time and that's just the engine... maybe if the CLS was more of a performance coupe they'd be able to sell more... upgraded suspension? with wheel well gaps like we've got I do'nt see the upraded part at all... suspension seems just like an accord to me... where's the aggressive stance of a luxury sport coupe? that however will soon be changed once I can afford a set of Teins...

THE 350Z IS A TWO-SEATER, IT IS NOT IN COMPETITION WITH THE CL-S.

But the Corvette is in direct competition with the new Z. And considering the pricing mark-ups; the Vette is less expensive and a hell-of-alot-faster in all areas. That doesn't even touch the aftermarket potential which is well beyond what any Z owner could hope for.

Speed alone... Vette most definitely. Toss a nice little bolt on to that motor and you'll be at Z06+ speeds in no time. The Z is nice but I don't think it's in competition with a Vette that runs 13.4 ish

A two-seater sport car with a fixed roof, what else could it compete with. Certainly not a CL-S...

BTW, what bolt would you toss on that motor to have a Z compete with a Z06?? That would take a mighty bolt as the Z06 is setup all around to run hard on the strip or track.

Sorry! play on words, bolt-on and I was simply being coy. Aftermarket for the Vettes is very strong and modd-ability is definitely there. MATCHING a Z06 in all categories would be very hard, agreed. As for all out speed well, I think that's easier and I guess, a little bit more than an bolt-on
