350z or G35 coupe (next car)
I'm planning to buy a new (well used, but ~04) car in the spring. Its pretty much between the G35 coupe 6 speed and the 350z, also a 6 speed of course. I've drivin the G35 on a short test, have not taken out the 350z yet. I'm going to start doing some recreational road racing, such as at Limerock here in CT, which pulls me towards the Z, but having the back seat (for insurance and luggage purposes) with the G35 is very nice... I probably wont have a chance to drive a Z until the spring, so looking for some input so i can pre-shop. From a purely driving standpoint, is the handling, acceleration, and braking of the Z significantly better than the G? I know the Z is ~150-200 lbs lighter, so that should affect straight line performance, but for handling, I havent been able to find a good comparison.
Any and all input is welcome
Thanks

Z.......never been a huge G35 coupe fan.
Looking forward to the 08 G coupe though, should fix much of what I don't like about the current model. Mainly the interior and the rear end.

I have a 350Z 'vert but if I was going to buy a coupe and the choices are the same as yours, I probably would have bought the G.

For that purpose I wouldn't get either.
But I like the 350z more. I think the lines of that car look better then the G35. You also have the name history of the Z.

with those parameters there is no choice but the Z unless you're gonna mod the hell outta the G. The Z makes a great daily driver. I've loaded mine up w/ luggage for the weekend w/ me and my Dad and gone to the USGP 7 hours away no sweat.

I drove many 350z's before I purchased my CLS-6 when i was car shopping. I thought the Z had alot of style and an intoxicating exhaust note. The engine was very torquey and I felt like it accelerated nicely in the higher gears without downshifting. My biggests grip with the 350z was that lack of interior. When I first sat in the car I noticed the cheap plastic interior was comparable to a dodge neon, okay maybe not that bad, but come'on nissan. Another turn off i found was that lack of a storage area. I dont think i could fit luggage in the trunk for a weekend get-a-way to the beach with my girlfriend(We all know how girls pack!).
The G35c was really what i wanted in a sports coupe, and would of chose it over the 350z no doubt. The G was priced a little bit out of my range because i was trying to pay whatever car i purchased off in 3 years.
If you get a Z or G35....19's with a drop make the cars gorgeous!!

I would wait until the new 2nd gen G35 coupe arrives either Summer or Fall 2007.
I saw the G coupe concept at the beginning of this year, it's hotter than the current G35c

Although I don't like either the Z or G35 coupe's interior orange lighting that much At least compared to the Acura interiors which to me are a lot nicer.
