350 Z...Wow!!!! I did not even know....

The 350 Z is incredible...I sat in one last nite(about 10pm...they were still selling cars!) and I wanted to trade my CL on the spot...It was a sunset orange 'vert...with black interior...please forgive me for being sooooooooo very late to the Z party, but this is the first time I have had time to really look at one...one of the other guys at the hospital has one(his is black)...now I have to drive one!!!

BTW, it was almost impossible to get my 10 y/o son Carlos out of the thing!!!!

I love my Z... Before I got my Z, I went to the Nissan dealer just to check it out for fun, but I fell in love with the car and ended up trading in my CL and getting it a few weeks later. I am still happy with my decision

Yeah I was gonna say...

If you like it that much I think its time the CL got retired, or even better got a new companion in the garage.

I had a 2001 CLS for 2 years. I had headers, intake and springs, but I just couldn't get over FWD. I traded it in on February 2003, so I've had the Z over a year and a half.

I mostly drive my cls from Houston to Littlerock and from Houston to fort worth...so I really need a good car for the highway(I am usually alone)...and with the top up I would like it to be fairly quiet...will the Z fit the bill for me?...around town in houston I am mostly in the car for 10- 20 mins( city @ about 40-50 MPH...no exciting roads at all...

BTW is yours a coupe or a roadster?

Unfortunately, I have a Coupe, so I can't really speak about the roadster. I do know that the ride of the Z can be a bit choppy (but supposedly the 04+ Z's have a more compliant suspension) but it's an excellent highway driver. The gearing is great (3000rpm @ 80mph) so the car is quiet, and the VQ has so much torque, you will almost never have to downshift to pass someone on the highway.

I know Chief F1 Fan (a member here) recently bought a Z roadster and may be able to answer your questions a little better.

i like the g35s more than the 350's .like the door handles on the 350 are not very good looking to me. and im not sure if u can get the pop up navi in the 350 but its dope in the g35. plus i love the rear end of the g35. the rx8 is dope 2

Speeking from experience. Don't get a vert if you do a lot of Texas long distance driving. Any roadnoise will be annoying and there just simply aren't to many convertibles (in a reasonable price range) that are as quite as a hardtop. Check and see if there is a hardtop available for the conv. 350. Thats the only way you can compensate. Conv. should be saved for weekend fun cars and not long distance rides.
