Currently i have a first gen (1998) CL and its getting up there in miles, plus its automatic.

i was thinking about either going up to:

Second Gen. CL 6 speed

-OR-

Go with an Accord V6 if you want to go that way. Quite a few of us here are dumping the 01 CL-S for obvious reasons.

Or if you have Kahoonas as large as mine, switch to a Camry. Good grief! LOL.

TSX is better in every way except acceleration IMO. Whats important to you?

Keep in mind the 06 TSX (if your buying new) will have more pwr, probly 10-15HP. Also, Hondata is available.

Oops! Sorry, I had not noticed you were talking 6 speed. Either is a good car.

I'd rather have the CLS 6MT. I don't like 4cyl unless it's turbocharged.

Depends on what you're looking for. I've got a CLS 6spd, so I'm biased, but if you're looking for a car that gets excellent gas mileage, the TSX is tough to beat.

I wanted a coupe when I went shopping, but the TSX is something I'd consider now.

Do you want a (moderately) powerful coupe? Or a fun little sedan? I'm leaning towards the TSX myself but I'm waiting to see what power gains (if any) we'll see for the next model year. Anyone know the release date on the 06?

TSX 6MT. Get it reflashed and maybe some better tires. You'll be pleased.

hey i love my CL .. but crappy auto tranny and ~90k miles is making me think about other cars. i wanna stick with the acuras .. well b/c they are nice. i was thinking accord too, but i wanna go dealership hoping tonight and see what acura says versus honda on certain things.

i love coupes, but i think the TSX is such a hot car. not to knock the RSX at all but i think its nicer even for a 4 door.

I aint gonna lie the TSX is sweet and handles like a champ, I just think it lacks power. For the money of the TSX I expect more power. I guess I just love the CL too much, once I get rid of this one I'm gonna get the CL 6 Speed ....

or i can go really bad and get a new accord and badge it as a CL

A $30k car with a 4-cylinder and no forced induction? No thanks. Go with the CL and do a lot of nice performance mods, your car will fly!

The Solara is, from what I've seen, a MILF-mobile! You DO NOT really want to be seen in one, especially convertible versions. When I think middle-aged young looking moms, the first 2 cars that come to mind are the Sebring convertible and the Solara convertible...

I wouldn't buy a car because it exceeded your expectations with aftermarket parts, I'd buy one because it had done that stock and that you would be able to be excessive with the aftermarket.

Don't get an Accord V6. The auto tranny is piss poor. Going from a 1st gen CL to an RSX might suck for you since the RSX is so compact. If you have to have stick go

1. Accord Coupe V6 6mt (looks better than the CL IMO. Put on an OEM kit and it already has nice 17s). No aftmkt though. Intake, exhaust, maybe pullies eventually.
2. TSX. No balls though but handles the best of the 3.
3. CL-S. Looks grandfatherly IMO. Not as sporty as the Accord.

How long will you keep the car?
Any family in sight (wife, kids)?

Always keep in mind that coupe and family don't always mix. Thinkahead and life later will be easier.

Do you want Navi?

I guess not since the RSX is now a possibilty. Nonetheless the HUGE screen in the TSX owns the CL's hands down. I have had a 01 CL-S and am now looking to get either a 6 speed CL or a TS. I would go TSX because of the 4 doors, better gas mileage, and the huge navi. The CL would be for the speed.

Acura service owns Honda and any other non luxo car maker.

The main reason I want to get an Acura over a Honda is because of the loner cars in the service department. That is a HUGE plus as far as I am comncerend. It is very nice being able to call into the service department and scheduling an oil change w/ a loaner car. It is even nicer not worrying about how long it will take for them to finish working on your car or being picked up or dropped off by a shuttle.

New or Used?

You can pick up a used 04 TL for 30K or less. Keep that in mind too. Acura has a good 50K warranty.

I would personally go 2003 CL Type S. 6 Speed 260 HP coupe for a good price I would also consider the RSX Type S. Not a huge fan of the TSX but all 3 are AMAZING cars, you can't go wrong anyway with those
