I would prefer SC rather than Turbo. Lag time is bad and sometimes is "unsafe feature". tranny should be modded too or forget about it in couple months....

Ya I would have to agree, I would probably go with a SC way before a turbo. For the money you pay, a turbo just doesn't give you the same results.

You know we all want SC.....if any of us wanted to be "trailer queens" by buying a turbo...we would have bought a shell of a Civic HB, dumped a prelude or integ motor...turbo'd it and race spec'd it...cage, heavy duty springs..welded diff..and it would've cost about 12K...or about 20K less than our cars...but we didn't...we want a cruising car that beat the crap out of the everyday "rice-boy" civic, integ, prelude...and anything else that isn't turbo'd and some that are...=T
But, I digress.....I still love the sound of all my friend's cars when they drive around...and that blow-off valve shoots off...gets you kinda excited...=P

Is the sound of the blow-off valve coming from an intake when it "breathes"? inhales/exhales?

Don't get me wrong, SC's are awesome. But are you saying that a Turbo is less power per dollar than an SC?

A turbo can put out way more power than our tranny could possibly hold. If our block could take it heck I'm sure we could hook a Garrett T60 and flow massive CFM into that bad boy...

But that's not the point, a SC is *much* more limited in application than a Turbo. I can not stress that enough, maybe Scalbert (Steve) can expand on this...

Depending on the setup, a Turbo can be rigged to be most efficient at low rpms (for towing?) mid rpms (daily driving and best all around response, like Volvo's) and high end rpms (Supra's, 3000GT's). Most aftermarket applications are of the last kind. High end power, cause that's where all the racing takes place.

A turbo, since it works of the exhaust gasses of combustion spools as the engine flows more air. Essentially a Turbo will amplify your N/A powerband, this is also controllable with a Boost Controller. A Supercharger will completely change the powerband of a car, depending on what kind it is, (Twin-screw Lysholm, Roots, Centrifugal). And the boost is not controllable, so they MUST be rigged to reach safe boost at peak rpm, and comrpromise the rest of the powerband's boost. Turbo's also have the advantage in this case, which is easily taken care of with a wastegate.

And as moomaster said, you can't beat the intimdation behind a big honkin FMIC and BOV.

Compressor sends a stream of 11 psi or so air towards the throttle body, when you shift, the throttle body slams shut, and that 11 psi has nowhere to go, so it heads back towards the compressor. Bad. So to prevent this, between the compressor and throttle body there is a pressure sensor bleed valve. It makes a sneeze-like sound, after the car revs up or in between shifts.
