2015 Genesis
Yeah I know it's a Hyundai but the standard equipment and options are difficult to ignore in view of the price you can get for a loaded model.

Compared to other premium brands one might consider it competitively priced, but it's hard to ignore a 10% price increase compared to the last gen. The base MSRP has increased by over $3500 and the R-Spec has increased by $4100.

I would like to think that the price increase was done to help the sales of the Azera which starts at $31k, but I'm not sure.

I'm still waiting to see what Hyundai has done with regards to steering feel, and inherent build quality.
I figure the R-Spec Hyundai models should feel great. But I've heard that Toyota has more road feel in comparison to Hyundai
Then there's also the issue of the dealership experience, and resale value. As much as Hyundai has progressed, they still have a long way to go. I really want them to succeed, as they're taking chances in areas Honda would not dare tread.

Mustang GT for that price. Have you seen the 2015?? Yeesh. I will say that I was impressed by the R spec I drove but I found the suspension too stuff for daily use. I understand that it's the performance variant but it was REALLY stiff.

The Genesis looks great in person. I spent some time in both the 3.8 and the 5.0 at the NYIAS and everything feels substantially upgraded over the old car. The one area that I still do not like is how cheap the buttons feel and the center console controller for the infotainment system just does not feel well damped. Aside from that, the rest of the interior looks fantastic, especially the matte finish wood trim, and I really like the new exterior. Waiting to get some seat time in one soon. Too bad it is too big of a car for my tastes.

just priced it out and you could tack on like 15k for packages. the 3.8l breaks into 50k quick....i think id rather take an Infiniti M.
i digress...priced out the 5.0 and it was almost the same as the loaded 3.8l. you basically get the 5.0 engine for free considering most of the 3.8 packages come standard with the 5.0.

I love everything about this car but the price. Its hard to swallow such a large price increase even though there are a lot of features on this new one. I'd almost be tempted to try and snag a leftover 5.0 R-Spec as you could probably swing some very aggressive pricing on them as dealers try to move the old inventories.

re: the price increases... it is quite a sizable jump. I don't know how it stacks up against the competition, but I'm sure the car is still a great value for what you get.
My mistake... the people I've heard complaints from about build quality owned a Genesis Coupe, not the sedan. But I do remember some things online about steering feel, which depends.
