Well, small world.
Jason and Tyler were the 2 butthole surfers I was referring to when I mentioned veering west on November 7th to join y'all...but the friggin flights out of MIA/FLL were ridiculously more expensive and complicated than the Monday morning one I had already bought. Dammit...
Also, I did it once and I plan to revisit again...I need some flashpro and DOM love on the TL-S for vtecssss and smoothing and rev hang....
Very very cool, only a matter of time before we meet then.
Your grammar is like your car...bad.

Hope everyone had a great holiday.
I have been going back and forth on what to get next for the Civic. Ive been looking at a downpipe and intake, maybe an aftermarket wheel and quick release hub, or maybe some seats. Well, Monday I made a purchase on a Corbeau FX1 wide seat. Power mods would be cool but I dont see them playing a huge roll in the build atm and would rather focus on some safety features.

About a week ago the Corbeau FX1 seat I ordered came in and I also stripped the rear seats and belts out in preparation for the auto power roll bar. Total weight saving once the front seats are replaced will be right around 100 lbs.

Enjoying reading this thread. I visited the Dragon with a couple of friends last summer and was blown away - the sheer quantity of nice driving roads so easily accessible is amazing in that area.

Not sure if I mentioned this but if you guys are familiar with the Gridlife series, they are coming to Carolina Motorsports Park which as you might know Im super familiar with and entered into their ClubTR time attack series. This will be my first ever competition and I know I will be slow but having prior knowledge of this track may give me an edge. Per club rules, the splitter that I had did not meet the requirements so I have sold it to another 9th gen guy. I dont know if I will have the time to make a new one before the event but my intentions are to make one that not only mounts to the splitter rods but is held onto by a bracket system under the car. I also went ahead and deleted my fog lights and may play around with a brake duct system if I get bored.
Corbeau seat still hasnt been installed. The Buddy Club seat adapters are on a 1-2 week backorder and then I still need the air bag resistors. I got the Buddy Club low profile seat rails the other weekend so everything is just sitting around waiting to be installed.
I ordered a new set of tires. Because the ClubTR uses a Falken spec tire, I can either run the RT660s or the 615k+ tires. My thought process is to swap the Continentals with the 615's in a 225/45/17. This would essentially get me that ideal reverse staggered setup everyone uses, the difference being Id have the 660's up front and the 615's in the rear. Ive asked if this would mess with the drivability having two different tires on the car and everyone says no but it could make the rear end a little unpredictable. I dont get the rear oversteer like I want with the square 255 setup so this will be my little science project and if it doesnt work then I could always but the square setup back on. Looks wise, the car is gonna look a little wonky with black wheels up front and blue in the rear lol
Last month I found a good deal on some Acura RL calipers. This will be a small project for the spring and summer for me to work on. Gonna get them cleaned up, buy a rebuild kit, new pins and retainers, and get them powdercoated....just not too sure what color

Good news, the Autopower roll bar has shipped from San Diego and hoping it'll be here by next wednesday. Also I got the adapter plates for the seat rails...unfortunately I still cant install them in the car yet because I need to modify the belt bolt brackets. They need to be cut and welded on the other side of the rail so that these wide seats can fit.

Yesterday, I contacted my buddy who built the front bumper and rear bumper on my Forester to see if he could modify the Buddy Club seat rails to fit the Corbeau. He killed it and the welds are solid!
The night before i went to VIR i had repainted the roll bar in satin black. The yellow didnt hold up well and Im not too disappointed. The black looks good too.
So here was the damage. Took the day off last thursday to swap out the rotors and do some inspections. The problem area was the front right...it was cracked in 3 places on the outside of the rotor and it was warped really bad. The inside of the rotor surface was fine of course and the front left rotor was also fine and undamaged.
I went ahead and replaced them with Stoptech slotted rotors
While I had the wheels off, I cleaned up the area with brake clean and WD-40'd the coilover threads so I could raise the front up a half inch. Coilovers are still working flawlessly!

Well Gridlife was fun. I really hope they come back next year. My car wasnt at all competitive and finished 14th our of 16th lol but I did go 7 seconds faster than my personal best in 2021. Finished with a 1:53.756.
I also did my first Auto-x in the civic yesterday at zmax dragway. I took the rear wing off for a reason that I'll get to later but the rear rotates A LOT. There was a total of 212 competitors and I finished 146th. I finished 2nd in my Novice B group and 7th overall out of 40 in the Novice class. Not too bad for a huge noob!
This isnt my video but this was the last dash where I got the 1:53. We had a great battle between my civic and his RSX

Went back to VIR for SCCA TNiA and did 3 morning sessions. I improved to a new personal best of 2:24.208 which is a little over 6 seconds faster than my last PB back in March of a 2.30.3xx. This is great considering the honda challenge cars for 8th/9th gen run 2:15s with considerably less weight and about 205whp. This car has a 2:20 in it at almost 3k lbs and 180 whp

The APR wing finally sold yesterday so now I can figure out what to replace it with. Its coming down to 3 choices...a swan neck from PCI, a standard aluminum wing from 9 Lives Racing, or the Epsilon GT wing

Oof. So what exactly happened on the last one, what was the cause? It seems like it was just severe uncorrectable oversteer. I'm assuming you have a big rear sway bar on it? Is there anyway to correct that; i.e. steering inputs/laying off the brake?
#116
If I had to guess, I didnt adjust the suspension to compensate for having zero rear downforce. Dampening was full stiff, RSB was full stiff, and rear tire pressure was high. All of that and maybe a little lift off oversteer or touching the curbing resulted in a spin

So Konig hooked me up again with a new set of wheels only this time I switched it up. Ended up selling my black set of Hypergrams and got a staggered set of Ultragrams. Specs are 17x9 +40 and 17x8 +40 and they came in silver. I had them powder coated in Polar White from Prismatic Powders since these arent offered in white. These came out soo good and I had the coating company ceramic coat them cause these thing are gonna get super dirty from these Hawk pads. I also downsized in tire size from a 255 to a 245. The RT660s run really wide so 245's work really well on a 9 in wheel.
