2010 Dodge Challenger srt8

I really dont know how quick it is.
its kinda confusing, and very different than the TL.
up until this point, the TL was the fastest car I've driven. It's very different. For example the Tl is more of a high revving machine, while the challenger is a fucking torque monster. by 2k RPM, I look up in the rear view and everyone that was at the light with me are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy behind me. its amazing because I only pushed it lightly.
I chirped 3rd gear, which was fucking awesome.
more tomorrow. with pics.

When I say its the easiest car to drive:it took me 3 weeks to get comfortable with the TL, whereas the srt took me less than a day to get comfortable.
Took her through some local roads. Long stretches, with some curves and twisties throughout.
With the TL, I incorporated some of inaccurates TL diet, which made the car more nimble through the curves.
Although, the SRT is heavy, the weight does not hamper carving through the turns.
Coming out of a turn, it feels planted and steady, quickly reaching speeds of 140.
there was a few vettes this morning, but they werent playing. Followed a GT through some turns. This car is pretty amazing to say the least.

The suspension on the SRT is pretty amazing for a car that size.
An aftermarket suspension (such as my SMS set up) will do wonders.
In the end its still a big car and its not going to pull g's like a bimmer. But you might be surprised at what it can do when pushed.

For mods.

Ryan, the owner is great guy. Super friendly and easy to talk to...He has designed a lot of parts for the challenger...intake, suspension mods, etc. Great stuff. Look here.

Beautiful car. I had the chance to drive a SRT8 Friday night at work and I loved it. Much bigger than I thought it was though.

Wow.
I drove the TL today, a bit disappointed to say the least. It's been about a week and a half since I've had the SRT.
Let me start by saying that TL's Interior is CRAP. Sure it looks nice at face value but sit in the Dodge and you can feel the difference. The Dodge is such a comfortable ride, the seats just hug you. I'm sure its because of the larger bolsters on each side of you. The materials used are a heck of a lot better. I think its a combination of leather and suede. It feels great against your skin. There are no rattles. The car feels SOLID at 0mph all the way up to 120mph.
Some people may feel that the dash is cheap and lacking. They're right.
While driving, the only thing the driver concentrates on is the speedo' cluster in front of you, and the navigation unit/radio. These critical components do not feel cheap at all. Sure, you can argue that the whole dash is done in a cheap plastic, but while driving; it doesn't matter.
Now on to the TL.
I sat in it this morning and did not feel any joy at all. It feels like a tiny go-kart compared to the SRT. Don't get me started on the rattles, or how the car feels unstable at normal driving speed. Feels very rackety, almost like my entry luxury car is going to fall apart. Take a look at Innacurates avatar. Thats what it feels like I'm driving. Again, at face value the TL's interior LOOKS very well made and put together.
Now, on to the driving aspects of both.
RWD vs FWD. Who wins?
The SRT does. Very simple, you point the steering wheel in the direction you want, and it happily goes where you point it to.
For the TL, you almost always have think ahead of the turn. Based on the turn, you have to figure out how much throttle to give and how much to steer. I over corrected many times this morning. I bet it looks funny to the driver behind me.
POWER.
Hands down the Dodge, but its expected. 6.1L vs 3.2L. Two completley different animals.
I'll have to continue later.

you clearly didnt read my post.
I clearly gave reasons why I think the SRT won in the interior.

for the reading impaired (yes johnsteph I'm talking to you), I bold-ed the important parts.

I didn't find the interior of the Challenger to be nearly as nice as that of the TL. Of course I like a little actual styling to go in my interior rather than straight, blocky shapes and acres of black. Of course, I have always gravitated towards Japanese interiors over American/German....

Its all personal preference.
as i stated earlier in the thread, i think the acura has too many buttons!!!
and while in the challenger the dash is plastic, you're really not paying attention to it because the road and your speed are taking up your concentration.
Two different cars. but I'll clearly pick the SRT in a heart beat.
I also liked how stable and planted the SRT felt. My TL has a bunch of rattles and feels wobbly at normal driving speeds.

Parts of the dash are plastic. The lower areas and there isn't that much. The whole top of the dash down to around center console is that soft touch foam/material that you find in higher end cars.

this picture just makes the car jump out at you. I mean, it does in the other pictures too, but this one especially
man, I'm not one to be loud or dress loud, but I would have no issues with getting a yellow Challenger. So sexy. Just wish the SRT8 didn't cost so damn much, though it's basically almost loaded already. Still.... $600 for navigation in the SRT8, vs. $2300 in the Mustang GT
Your dad must love driving it around. Looks and sounds bad ass while being classy, plus it seats five somewhat reasonably.

Thanks Ira!
I'm a simple man. The three A/C controls are enough for me!
Thanks Legend
Thanks Morning would...In that photo I think I had just got done washing, claying, and waxing.
When he told me he picked up a Challenger, I wanted it to be a grey or black... BUTT after driving it yellow is just fine!
I did the stripe delete, as suggested by David. it makes it look a heck of a lot better.
My dad hasnt driven it that much..he bought it, then a week later left for Thailand.
He gave it to me at 500 miles. I'll update you guys on the current mileage when I give it back.
Thanks Legend

Have you ever worked on your car? may be urs is a SRT thats why ur knowledge is so limited.
All im saying that when u sit in a regular challenger, its nothign but stupid/cheap plastic all around you. The SRT one have better/decent interior, but for the fucking price, i'd take a TL over that.
get ur shit together buddy.
and on the side note; Justin teh car looks clean, saw it at five guys.

No, are you stupid? I work on these cars every day and tear them apart. Every dodge/chrysler out there is put togehter like SHIT. Cutting corners everywhere.

You are a moron. The SE, RT, and SRT all have the exact same interior and interior materials. The only major difference being that the seats in the SRT have larger bolstering and suede inserts.
But all the materials in the dash/consoles/ etc are the exact same.
They are built on the same line at the same factory by the same people.
Would you like to continue being a complete idiot? Its obvious you haven't a clue as to what you are talking about.

Funny cause i'm here at Dodge right now and just took some pictures that i'll load up when i get home.
U dumbass. when did i ever say that the interior is completely different. Obviuosly looks like ur retarded ass doesnt read much.
I said:
The seats, the door panel, and the trim add a better touch on the SRT, with out that, the regulrar challenger's interior is completely SHIT.
and whats up with this stupid attention whoring shit? really working hard trying to belittle people so u can look good? save it and use it when its the right time.
you need to back the fuck off and watch next time u come off strong like that, specially when u DONT KNOW.
Bottom line. Challenger's interior is only decent in the SRT. Again, other than that its complete shit.
and just so u can increase ur knowledge about ur own car, start working on it and then u'll realize WTF this shit is. Take the door panel out, or any thing and look underneath. Something put together so shitty, if it was to be built in japan or somewhere, the cost of buiding would probably be the same as a fucking corolla.

HUGE difference there
Better bolstered seats. Oh and yes, suede inserts in the door vs leather. HUUUUUUGE difference there.

Nauman, I have to agree with David.
there isnt much difference between the two. The Red RT that david posted looks exactly like MY SRT save the seats.
The suede inserts dont touch my body as I wear jeans.
The larger bolsters would make the biggest difference in feel.
