2009 TL Speculations, Predictions, Desires

Alright,

Since the mods have called for the 2009 TL thread in the 3G forum to be limited to information, pics, sightings, announcements, etc about the 4G TL, let's give it a go here to do what we do best when there's no information to work with - speculation, rumor, and desires:

Topic suggestions:
1. What do you WANT in the 4G TL?
2. What do you think Honda will really deliver?
3. What will the new TL be competing against in the market? (or, what are you going to be cross shopping the TL against?)
4. Is there something that the 4G TL would have/not have that would eliminate it from your consideration?
5. What has the competition done right/wrong that Acura should do/not do?
6. What about the 3G TL needs to be fixed? What should be carried forward?

I would love Acura to just drop the TL at this point so I never have to see another thread speculating about the car.

300 hp through the front wheels is pretty bad...make it RWD

but they wont since they would have to develop a whole new platform which drive the cost up alot

and i dont know if the shots in motor trend were concepts/spy or whatever....but it basically looks like an overdone accord

Confirmed, you say? Well, why don't you drop a link to that Honda press release over in the thread in the 3G forum. I'm sure everyone would love to see some confirmed info on the 4G.

So far, everything has been a conflicting mishmash of "super secret" sources. But, that's what this thread is for. I suppose we can make that a topic as well - what do you THINK you know about this new car.

Well, I didn't go back through all 79 pages. But, looking through the last few, all I see are people talking about the deals they are getting on the 08 TL-S. Nice, but not of interest.

But, thanks for playing.

Topic suggestions:
1. What do you WANT in the 4G TL? 300/300 hp/tq, RWD with AWD option, solid automatic or 6 speed on all models, 30mpg, aggressive styling, stylish interior with high quality fit and finish, ventilated seats, keyless ignition, roughly the same size/weight as the out going model all for around $40k
2. What do you think Honda will really deliver? hell no
3. What will the new TL be competing against in the market? obviously, infiniti, lexus, bmw, audi and benz
4. Is there something that the 4G TL would have/not have that would eliminate it from your consideration? fwd, big and heavy and huge grill would make me laugh
5. What has the competition done right/wrong that Acura should do/not do? Acura is the only manufacturer trying to peddle FWD in the entry level sport/luxury market, they are not leading the way with this logic. Infiniti keeps offering more and barely raising the price, the european competition has made a huge come back, if Acura wants to maintain its image and continue to grow they need to learn from the RL, while a good car in its own right, it is not at its price range.
6. What about the 3G TL needs to be fixed? What should be carried forward? styling was never bad on the current TL, just needs to be tweaked, and I don't mean rounded and bloated, tighten up the lines but make it recognizable. Interior styling was nice, but update things and use the best materials that are reasonable. Keep in mind the new hyundai is coming out and going to be competing in the already crowded entry level sport/luxury arena, if you want to remain a major player they better do a good job.
