2008 Toyota Sequoia
Yesterday on my way home from the gym I see this big ass thing behind me. The new Sequoia is freaking huge. I certainly like the new looks of the 08 Sequoia rather then the previous generation.

That thing is gigantic. I daily drive a Tundra and the proportions of the vehicle are still overwhelming to me. I usually park away from others. As for the sequoia, the MDX would the logical choice over this. That truck will sell in Texas.

I like the front cuz it's basically the t Tundra... but the sides are just kinda plain... I think they could've done a little better maybe the fenders could've flare out a little more... but I do like it

I liked the new sequoia a lot when I saw it at the autoshow. But I also love the new Tundra.
nokia its funny you say the size of your tundra still overwhelms you. When I test drove them I was amazed at how easy it was to drive for such a large vehicle. I had total sense of where my wheels and bumpers were at all times. And i had to make some tight maneuvers to get out of the parking lot of the dealer. Though at least a back up sensor would be helpful for all the parallel parking I do in LA. but thats a luxury feature. I do just fine with the pathfinder and the big ass spare hanging off the back.

The powertrain on this truck is great...smooth and lots o power. The ride is quite impressive for a vehicle of this size. The interior is very flexible- the 2nd row moves fore/aft independently of each other and the 3rd row is the most comfortable of any SUV. There is plenty of legroom and the seats power recline back so you can adjust your angle...very nice!
We saw two major problems...first and most glaring is that Toyota stuck the 25K Tundra dash in it and puts a 59K MSRP on the Platinum model. The dash is a mess of colors, especially if you get the Red Rock or Beige colors. It is a loooong reach to the Nav screen from the drivers seat and we're not short people. The whole interior does not exude a feeling of luxury at all. The nav seems like something Acura used in 2001 and no HID headlights, keyless start, etc.
The second issue is that Toyota does some goofy optioning...if you get the top level Platinum model, you cannot get a bench seat for the 2nd row. We really wanted to get the Platinum for the toys (although you can nearly option a Limited all the way to a Platinum) and my wife loved the Aspen White Pearl that only comes on the Platinum. Yet there was no way to get our bench seat and the console is hard-wired into the truck to allow for the heated 2nd row seats.
All in all...great truck, but I think that you need to get a loaded SR5 (low 40's) to keep this truck's value. Otherwise you are comparing it to some luxury names (Denali, Escalade, QX56, Navigator, GL, etc) and the interior is sorely lacking in toys compared to those models.

totaled up limited > platinum
54 vs. 59k
and limited has a bench seat
we are seriously trying to get this instead of a suburban/escalade and getting a avalanche for my dad... hope this works out
