2008 Dodge Caliber... Thoughts?
no blame it on A shift
.
always when someone got a crappy Si, RDX or Accord motor. I say it's A shift's fault.
I'm on B-shift for 10 years probably. as i say doing "a night in the hole"

The SRT4 is a manual transmission. My wife drove the car, and didn't like the fact the car had a lot of torque steer under hard acceleration. She is out looking at a new Mazdaspeed 3 and a new Subaru WRX at the moment.
Thanks, for the insight and constructive feedback. I gave her some info from the responses on the forum and she agrees the interior if HORRIBLE, but the motor is a beast. So, the SRT4 is off the list.

Honestly, the only Chrysler product I might be inclined to consider would be a Dodge Ram.
I got an email from a local dealer (that I assume is being closed) with 7-15k in discounts on cars trucks and suvs.
The deals are nothing short of astounding.
I deleted it without a moments thought of buying.

After her experience at the Mazda dealer yesterday I think she may scrap the new car idea.
Of course, the feedback from this forum, and after her test drive confirmed her thought about domestic cars. She has an interest in the Mazdaspeed 3, but the salesperson was giving her the run around yesterday and she walked out. Of course, the doushe called me to try and convince her to come back in and buy a car. I told the doushe that was between her and him, since this is her car, and her purchase.
Use the internet and e-mail different Mazda dealers. She can describe what she wants and that she's looking for the best deal. Make sure to say in the e-mail that she is ready to buy the best deal she can get.
Make them compete against each other.
Probably pushing it on the kit.
Did you ask for a quote from these dealers on the Honda website? If so, I dont believe the dealers can see that you CC'd other dealers on it.
You should go to the dealers website and get the online sales dept email address and send it directly from your email account. That way, they KNOW they are competing.

Hopefully, this crap will be over with be this weekend. I just want to get her a new car and call this sh!t a day.
We have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica and it is a pretty solid car. No squeaks, rattles, or creaks despite its "below average" rating on Consumer Reports. Its definitely not a sports car. I busted out laughing the other day when I went to pass a Isuzu Rodeo on a two lane road. I pressed the gas pedal all the way down, and it felt like I was still in 3rd gear. In its defense, its not the lightest thing either.
It does get good gas mileage though for its size. Averaging 24-25mpg.

I have rented a Caliber once. It was a base model with a very anemic engine. It was loud under light acceleration. Pedal to the metal and it released a very loud WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A because of the CVT.
LOL
LOL
i missed the part about this car being for your wife...if my spouse tried to stick me in a dodge caliber, i'd drive it straight to the lawyer's office to sign divorce papers, then off a fucking bridge. if you love your wife, act like it. get her something worth driving that won't fall apart or kill her in an accident...or kill her with embarassment from being seen in the thing.
get her a honda accord, acura TL, TSX, or even a new model honda civic, mazdaspeed3, WRX, STi, EVO, Lancer Ralliart, soooooooo many better choices than a Caliber. hell, i'd rather have a skateboard with handlebars.

I rented one a few years back in FL, happened to be when it first came out. It sucked bad. Not like I had high expectations for it, but there are so many other cars that I would go for before choosing a Caliber (Even other American cars, Cobalt, etc..)
