2007 Shelby GT500 running in the nines

2007 Shelby GT500 running in the nines. I don't like the song with the video, but still some great sounds coming from the car.

Sweeeeet

Love the nitrous purge out the cobra emblem...

...and how was that burnout done if he wasn't standing on the brakes? a separate control to lock the front brakes? (could be a stupid question, I know...)

That is BAD! Once he gets his launches and shifts down pat, he'll really be a beast.

Yeah, I thought the nitrous purge was pretty cool as well.

S A CHO:

There is a bypass valve available, must most like he was only applying moderate pressure to the brakes. The fronts do most of the braking, so applying just the proper amount allows for only a moderate amount on the rear discs. This is actually very fun if you get it right!

Back in the 60's Hurst Line Lock was the thing to use. It attached to your shifter and allowed you to lock up the front brakes. Got to believe such a setup is still in use today.

That's exactly what it is-line locks. Still heavily in use today.

I like how they label the car as "stock" when, oddly enough, it isn't.

Still, it's nice that someone was able to get that fat pig to run.

O yah, its fun! Could very well have been a line lock, but any manual car I've ever heated the rears at the strip has been to side step the clutch then lightly on the brakes. Very embarrassing if it stalls.

Definitely a little piggy, but amazing that we now have factory cars capable of those speeds with a few thousand dollars in upgrades. And with A/C, power equipment, etc.
