2007-2010 Audi S6 (C6) - reliability?
#43
One on the right for me
I'm almost at 60k on the 08 S6. No major issues so far. It sucks down gas like no other. It's not a daily by any means. So far tires seem to be the only annual maintenance item. And the 12 quart oil change.

Either that or Audi didn't trust their own electronics and allowed the driver to use a key in case the push button failed .
A few questions:
1) How many miles have you put on it since you owned it?
2) How often do you drive it?
3) Can you list any issues you have had with the car, regardless of how trivial?
4) Do you have an extended warranty?
5) Are you replacing tires every year?
Thanks!

Wow, great to hear an AZer owns one!

2) It varies but probably averages 1-2 times a week. I commute quite a bit for work and unless I'm on the freeway for an extended period of time its tough to push the mpg over 20...
3) I haven't had many issues. The three ones that come to mind are below.
a)Audi knew about the issue and fixed the electrical when my coffee spilled.
b) Had a rough idle - dealer cleaned/replaced fuel injectors (warranty)
c) Headlight unit failed (warranty)
4) Yes, bought the extended warranty from the dealer earlier this year.
5) I can probably get around 20k on the tires before they need to be replaced

I am an Audi 5000CD Quattro ex-owner. I spent 11000$ is less than 3 years in repairs/maintenance before 110K miles.
But I would still buy a A6Q 3.0T. Just not an old one.

Where do you hear drone? It was mostly an acceleration vid with pretty much zero crusiing.
Either way, I'd be going with a Milltek exhaust if I get the car.
I've looked into that as well. While they're not cheap, they are not $1000 each. They are closer to $125-150 per, so replacing 10 of them would be expensive.
Between an extended warranty, necessary maintenance upfront, and new tires (can't run summer rubber in the winter), I'm looking at an additional $8-9k beyond the purchase price for me to be comfortable with any S6. After that I would be good to go aside from basic oil changes for a few years. It's becoming an increasingly more expensive proposition, but I can't stop dreaming about this car. Gotta pay to play...

I have a 2010 R8 V10 right now - car has been trouble free. Only driven 5000 miles since I picked it up...but not a single issue. Ive got a Tubi no-valve exhaust on it....sounds awesome. Cold starts though - my neighbors probably want to murder me...
I also bought an extended warranty thru the Audi dealer, costed me like $2200 or $2500 - dont remember exactly. Extended it for 5 years or 60k more miles. I shopped around alot - I found an Audi dealer that was ready to deal. A bunch of people on the R8 forum purchased warranties from him as well. I will PM you his info as I dont check the forums as much as before....
Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions - my experience has been fantastic so far.

Very reliable
I am 18 and have had mine for 2 years, it has 175,000 miles on the odometer and runs like a champ and still screams, I DD it and pay for everything myself, not that expensive, I pay about $1,080 for 12 month services and I installed at $40 oil catch can (it takes care of the carbon build up issues) so far only problem I’ve had is a warning light for my headlights (they both work fine) and the cable that releases the hood latch snapped, so I couldn’t open my hood, $65 later and everything’s perfect
