The 2006 Lexus GS --- gorgeous

Sorry if this is a repost: http://www.autofiend.com/modules.php...rticle&sid=112

2006 GS

My two cents: The front looks like a cross between the SC430, and the CL65. The rear looks like a cross between the Maxima, and the 7Series. The side view reminds me of the G35

I'd give my left nut for one of these

That is right when my warranty will run out on my Benz...not a bad car to fall back on.

I wonder how much it will cost??? I think around $45- $55K very reasonable for a Lexus 4.3 and AWD 'thumbsup"

the call looks nice from head on, side, rear and rear 3 quater. But when you look at the car from a front 3 quater it looks like a wahonish, New Malibuish mix. Plus i see a little audi/vw in the design. Def. not a japanese design, more german.

that center console looks amazing, i have always like the GS. I probably would rather have the old body though with this new interior. Oh well guess you can't have the best of both worlds

Really does take some cues from the new Maxima on the outside.

Also gonna have AWD.

That car is sick! The current GS model has been around since 1997 I think. I wonder y the hell it took them sooo long to change it. I think they have lost alot of sales these last few years cause the style was gettin a lil old.

The 430 better have more than 300hp.....if it doesn't that's weak. Just for the fact that the last GS which came out in 98 had 300hp.

Actually the Max took cues from the current GS and the next GS is an evolution of the current.

I actually think keeping a model around for a while is a good thing when it comes to depreciation. I wish Acura would consider doing this instead of changing their cars every 2 years (be it total change or minor "facelifts").

actually, the new design concepts on Japanese and German cars are similar to each other. you really can't say one is like the other because they're both coming out at around the same time frame. not like one really resembles anything from previous styles, its more of an evolutionary design concept that both are taking on

That car is awesome. If I had that kind of money, one would definetley be in my garage. I think it looks leaps and bounds better over the previous one, especially on the rear end.

It would be more appealing if it were priced more appropriately. Even the current 6 cyl is like mid 40's with options. The v8 is into the 50's with anything nice on it.

The car undercuts the 5 and E pricewise with comparable features. It is priced appropriately.

Case in point. When the GS 400 debuted in 1997 as a 1998 model, it started at 44k.

This was the price of the outgoing GS 300 model There is no comparing the 2 feature wise. This was 6-10k less than the V-8 E430, 540.

Nice, really like the interior, exterior is rather sleek also. I wish they would have upped the HP in the 4.3. Personally I would have loved a 2000 GS400 in red, I liked the 1998-2000.

The next gen M45 from Infiniti (FUGA in Japan) looks waaaay hotter and will probably come with 345hp. I think the current GS looks better than the new one

RAWK... I'm not impressed with the new GS at all, I think it's a really conservative "update." The freshening is really predictable, in a way, iuno.

Lexus interior/luxury, however, is near unmatched in that price range.

If it was no more than $40K for the V-8 that would be nice. It would be priced a class or 2 higher than CL/TL. more like RL competitor.

Looks boring. I prefer the current GS which is going to go down as a classic. The rear is bulky and the headlights look like the mid 90's GS which was very boring.

Does the RL even have any competition? Cuz I can't think of any reason to buy the RL in its current state.

I like it and it will be a tough choice between that and the 545 in a few years!. Unless of course I can get the M5 or E55 before then!

I am not that impressed. Don't get me wrong, it is still good looking, but not too much different from the current GS, which is already a very handsome sedan, especially the front resemblance.
