2005 CTS-V Loaded

With the GM employee discount, I can get a 2005 CTS-V loaded with navi for about $47,000.

Question: I don't expect to keep this car for every like the Honda or my Acura, but I would really want some power in a car before I'm 78 years old. I would like to smoke the tires at 50 mph (without braking). I want to eat some 'Stangs and roll with some 'Vettes and have the Bmrs as a snack.

Would a two year lease make sense?

I'll bet a 2 year lease on that car (even capped at $47k) would be rather expensive.

Due to rates/residuals.

Would price out the 36month lease as well.

You also might want to look at a what we call a Smart Buy. Basically the same as buying ti but you have a balloon payment at the end to ease the payments.

Stop, the CTS-V is a great car.......I like Cadillacs very much.

But the interior does suck on the CTS, it borders on horrible.

Not to mention, the CTS-V has very annoying wheel hop that to date has not been solved......and most likely never will be.

Wait until your car is broken in and you can put on the sport mode, you'll be all smiles.

Your choice was a good one.

What was a fair price for a CTS-V last month before the "discount?"

By the way, check the net for certified '05 CTS-V ... asking price is $~42K with 1-4K miles.

I've heard about the CTS-V wheel hop, but why doesn't the GTO nor Vette have it? I know they're not the same car but is the engine a reason?

The CTS-V's wheel hop can be tamed down with aftermarket parts, but i doubt he will ever launch it that hard from a stop. I'd go with the LS2 GTO and save yourself some money. It has a useable back seat, awesome euro style interior and unreal power.

Suspension and chassis architecture. The GTO and the Vette were designed and engineered since day one to put down massive power at the wheels, and the suspension was designed to accommodate that.

The LS6 in the CTS-V was a post facto idea; something they cooked up afterwards. The suspension was modified, but not as well accommodating as the GTO/Vette to put down so much power.

how about the C55 AMG?
IMO the C55 is SOOOOO much sexier than the CTS-V. plus the resale value on a Benz is >a Caddy.
I saw on TV where I think Benz is having some kind of sale.
