Only when they were massively discounted because this expensive boring car known as a failure.

The last Phaeton V8 MRSP is Canada was 99395$.

A S430 4-MAtic was 106000$. A loaded E-Class is about 80K$.

A A8Q was 96250$.

The Phaeton was hardly a 'deal'.

As I said; don't let your ignorance fool you.

p.s. when you say it's should be at 5 series prices, that means you think it competes with the 5 series. I don't know how you miss that logic.

5 series and Phaeton are in two totally different car realms.

Again, you don't know what your talking about.

A loaded W12 Phaeton in the US was $105, A loaded 7 series is $130+

Take 5m of your time and goto their websites and price them out....

Your argument from the beginning is off...why sell a car that competes with the 7, and mark it as a competitor to the 5.

I compared a 760 to a W12. BOTH are 12 cylinders?

Although one is 4wd the other isn't. But the 4wd model is cheaper anyway

Just because you couldn't prove your point on the model trim that is 90%+ of sales. Dishonnest to the least.

What you want me to show you the W8 starts at $60, loaded it was $80k? And the 7 series (IL) V8 starts at $80k. Again a $20k difference at the start.

Need pictures?

In 2004

The Phaeton started at 65K$.

Both the 745 and the A8 were 68K$.

You are a moron.

Nope, the 745IL would be the one you want to compare. As it's the same amount of room in the rear. And it started at about $80.

We are comparing equals here right? Or are we just tossing numbers/options in the vehicles to make your argument work.

Moron?

I'm done, if you really know a lot about the 7 series and Phaeton you'd know how to compare them correctly. The standard 7 series is like a 6-7" smaller in the rear compared to the Phaeton. The "IL" 7 series evens that out. And I'm talking legroom not size of the vehicle.

Correct, it is LONGER than the "IL" 7 series. So it's a moot point guy.

The standard Phaeton and the "IL" series are basically the same. Within 1" or so anyway. Which is why one would compare those two models.

So you are NOW just finally looking up information on the Phaeton... Better late than never I suppose.

Stupidity? Man, you keep doing it to yourself. Over & over...

Have you not realized you you look like a moron/retard discussing this? You have made it very clear you don't know your topics well already, NUMEROUS times.

And then you have the audacity to call me stupid

I intentionally took personal shots are you early in this thread because I knew you didn't know jack about this. Easy to push your buttons So defensive you are... defensive over something you don't fully understand. LOL

The Phaeton std wheelbase is 2881mm, 3001 for the LWB

The 745 is 2990, 3129 for the iL.

Now consider yourself as 'owned'. Shut up and learn.

I'm not talking wheel base guy, I'm talking cabin leg room in rear. The 745 standard is like 6-7 inches shorter in the rear leg room. The 745IL is equal to the standard Phaeton in rear leg room. There's plenty of articles about it online, try using google. The Phaeton extension is just ridiculous, it's only for limos or people who want to be driven around. Although I personally think all of these high-end luxury cars would be more fun to ride in than drive.

Wheel base changes drastically between manufacturer, duh... lol. Another great comparison by you.

Keep reaching, this is pretty amusing for me.... what are you going to next pull of GVWR and tell me one is heavier than the other.

Learn what? that you are now just searching for stuff online to argue about because you look silly? Yup I learned quite a bit about you today. As will anyone else who reads this thread

I'm throughly sick of repeating myself while you explore google to try and create a rebuttal.

It's good you finally chose to educate yourself on the Phaeton, but it's a day late and a dollar short in this thread.

While your reading, read about the 4 zone climate control. The 4wd system, the headlight design. The wipers/cleaning systems. Stereo, vent design. Aero dynamics (how the W12 phaeton would be good to 200mph if not electronically limited)

Go ahead and post your follow-up predictably saying something petty again...

I will choose to agree with you on one point, I too hope one day I can get a car like the Phaeton or 7 series for 5 series prices. Hell at 525 prices! lol

Playing the stupid game is the only asset you got?

Just for your information, the 7-series has a 18ft maximum cargo room in opposition to 13ft for the fat Passat. But they still belong to the same category.

Simple. The Phaeton short wheelbase compares to the 745i short wheelbase. The Phaeton long wheelbase compares to the 745 long wheelbase .

Now you really look like this

No, you're too good at the stupid game. I'd lose...

And who is talking about the passat? who's stupid? Are you mentally handicapped? ... this is an honest question.

Wheelbase doesn't necessarily mean more space guy, BMW tends to engineer their cars with long wheel bases for their 50/50 balance. Note the wheel base is about the same but the Phaeton is 5.5" longer. Explaining the 6" of extra leg room in the Phaeton. Again this is WHY you need to compare to the 745IL.

Here let me hand hold you to some websites OK? Don't get lost now...
Code:
                     745 (std) Phaeton (STD)
Wheelbase 117.7" 118.1"
Overall Length 198.4" 203.7"
Rear Legroom 37.2" 43.1"

And here's an article showing BMW finally outdid everyone with their new "IL" series. But it's only by 1/3rd an inch or so.

http://www.forbes.com/vehicles/2005/...627test_2.html
Even more impressive, at 43.4 inches, the Li offers best-in-class rear legroom, just beating out the Mercedes-Benz S500, Volkswagen Phaeton and Audi A8L. In fact, there is more legroom back here than there is in the seemingly larger super-luxury cars, such as the Rolls-Royce Phantom and Maybach 62.
Have any more pictures? is the last one your baby photo? You have no grounds to stand on so you keep pulling things out of your ass. This is too funny... thanks for making my day amusing I've never met someone so full of it and yet so determined to prove it over & over!

Wheelbase doesn't necessarily mean more space guy,
Who cares? This is the way it works. Not according one internal measure (7-series have some larger than the fat Passat as well), but obviously based on WHEELBASES which differentiates the regular version from the extended one (yeah I know... you obviously didn't know about the LWB Phaeton...). Period.

The fact that your imbecility doesn't allow you to agree with those hard facts does not change a thing.

hard facts

Passat?!?!? psssst.... shhh now don't tell anyone but we are discussing the Phaeton. shhh it's a secret... you can keep a secret right?

Guy, I planned on purchasing a Phaeton. I researched the hell out of the car for months. I know a lot about the vehicle, I also researched the competition. And AGAIN the long version is for limos or people who want to be driven around. The STD version as very CLEARLY dictated in the article I quoted is same size as 745LI. Did you miss this the 1st 3 times I told you?

And did you miss where I showed the standard 745 is like 6" shorter than the standard phaeton. BMW extends their wheelbase to get a close to 50/50 balance. Doesn't mean the car is just as large... or even put it in any classification. BMW likes to balance their cars, that is the only reason it has a long wheelbase. Wheelbase doesn't have shit to do with luxury...

LOL, the extended Phaeton is LONGER than the 745LI.

What facts have you stated? The fact that BMW has different wheel bases than the phaeton? That has jack and shit to do with this conversation. And ya know what? Jack left town!

Guess what that leaves you?

LOL, the extended Phaeton is LONGER than the 745LI.

What facts have you stated? The fact that BMW has different wheel bases than the phaeton? That has jack and shit to do with this conversation. And ya know what? Jack left town!

Guess what that leaves you?
Wheelbase has everything to do with luxury... AND THEY EVEN BASE THEIR PRICES ON IT, IDIOT.

Again, wheelbases;
The Phaeton std is 2881mm, 3001 for the LWB
The 745 is 2990 [yes longer than the fat Passat], 3129 for the iL.

yes luxury vehicles are based on wheelbase, it's VERY important to the buyer!

lol, the Phaeton is an example of a car that is longer and has an equal wheel base. But has more room inside by 6 inches. So explain in detail how wheelbase effects the luxury car market? Since I just told you the longer car has more room, even though it has the same wheelbase.

Again, are you mentally handicapped? this is an honest question.
