2004 TL AWD-? Your opinion...

With BMW already offering AWD and Infiniti heading in that direction, do you think the 2004 TL (CL?)will offer AWD? I would be all over a 300hp AWD TL. I also think Honda raised the bar for the TL, so what kind of premium goodies will be on the next gen TL/ CL family? Just thought it would be fun to hear some speculation.

I seriously doubt it from a CL/TL... If anything they **may** have an awd crossover in the pipeline but I dont see it happening to the CL/TL .. the demographics that are targeted for the TL will still buy the FWD w/o a AWD option and the CL is unforunately largely the bitch boy of the Acura lineup in terms of market share and innovation.

It was posted at an auto.com article that AWD is possible for Acura sedans and coupes of next generation. I think Zapata started a thread about this.

I understand what your saying but the sales and demographics for acura buyers that want AWD are also more closely in the SUV/MDX circle. The reason I dont think its going to happen is that Acura would be reducing MDX sales at the price of its already #1 selling product (TL). Buyers will still buy the TL regardless of AWD option and the minority that would be slated to get an AWD TL would be turning to it from an MDX.

Most likely no AWD too due to 65/35 weight distribution in the CL/TL. You need much better weight balance for an AWD car. Bimmer and Audi have weight distros in the 50's for front to back. Maybe next gen CL/TL, otherwise wont happen.
