the design is just OK. Its still reeks of cheap plastic used in pontiac GM. And its still very, i dont know plain....but not in the good way that honda interiors tend to be plain.
Its not a terrible interior. But I dont think its nice either. its meh.

Disclaimer: Photos dont do the GTO's interior any justice IMHO.
Relatively speaking, Nissan interiors always seem cheap but I've yet to see (or read) where that has correlated to actual quality issues (read: rattles). Maybe Pontiac is following suit.

I read an interesting fact today in the paper.
The Pontiac Aztek outsold the GTO for 2004.
That’s pretty bad.
And the Aztek is getting canceled, the GTO gets an upgrade.
But I still say 2005 will probably be the last.
I really don’t think the 50HP and the minor cosmetics are gonna sell THOUSANDS more cars.

With no "fine print", the dealer near me that was running the 289 deal is now advertising this:
10,000 DOLLAR REBATE ON THE 2004 GTO
And they have (3) remaining. DAMN…that’s tempting.
I should run over there after work and offer them 22 grand CASH and see what they say.

$6500 of the rebate comes from a $1500 rebate and $5000 marketing support.
BMW had a similar rebate in late October last year. $6500 in marketing support on the 04 Z4. I am kicking myself for not going for it. People were getting those cars for Invoice - $6500 plus $500 ($6k under invoice essentially).
Do it, where else you gonna get a 350 hp V8 for that price?

This year I’m going to behave, but 2006 or 2007 I will definitely be parking something new in the garage that will serve as a weekend toy.
Possibly a C6 Vette.
Once the Z06 comes out, there should be quite a few of the “regular” 2005’s hitting the market priced 20 grand under original cost.
I'll keep the CL-S for rainy day and winter duty.

Just the interior needs work there.

I wonder what all those suckers that paid MSRP +5 Grand last summer are saying now.
I was actually quite impressed with the interior of the C6. Best I’ve ever seen in a Vette.
A friend of mine just ordered one. It’s that funky Orange color. They’re telling him he won’t see it until June or July.

Guess what??? They are sold out. 40% more GTO's than last year. You and ShawnS can discuss resale value of the '05 in another thread.

Well, this should at least be noted...
When you BUY a car, you enter into a contract with the selling agent (the stealearship), and all of the terms and conditions are fixed.
When you LEASE a car, every condition is completely negotiable, at least here in Illinois.
They can tell you they need $2,500 due ar signing, $299 a month for 36 months, $0.35 a mile penalty for every mile over X many miles, and before we lease you the car, you have to go outside and jump over the bush in front of the parking lot three times.
You have the right to change the numbers demanded, or even "line out" entire sentances or even paragraphs. Barter!
Kind of like the commercial for the home loan where the lady says "Well, can't you come down a little on the interest?"
Next!
