2003 Honda Civic headlights

One of my wife's headlights are out. I bought an HID kit for it, and one headlight went out.

Can I buy a replacement HID bulb from a store, or do I have to get another bulb from a special order shop or something?

What kind of bulbs does the 2003 Civic take (for low beams)?

did one of the HID Kit bulbs go out? OR did one of the factory halogens go out?

If the HID's, its recommended that you change them in pairs. As well if it's HID, you will need a re-based HID bulb that will work with the civic, check ebay for some.

How old is the HID kit? Are you sure it's not the ballast?

Make sure it's the bulb and not the ballast first, by switching left and right bulbs and seeing if anything changes

I didn't think of that. I'll have to do that this weekend.

And yes, it's the HID bulb, not the factory halogens.

The HID kit is only about 1-1.5, maybe two years old.

Anyone know what kind of lightbulbs the 2003 Civic takes, and where I might be able to find them? Can I get them from a store like Target or Wal-Mart or an auto store?

9003. Thanks.

So can I find a replacement bulb at a local Autozone or something like that, or would I have to special order this bulb for the HID headlights?

What I linked you to are halogens.

HID Bulbs are completely different and much pricier. Not sure if I can help you with that part.

I'd look on eBay. I don't know if it was an expensive HID kit or not but I've had good luck with my HID kit and it was one of the cheaper ones, so I'm sure their bulbs are fine. I can give you the sellers name I bought my kit from if you want. He had a pretty good positive feedback percentage.

EDIT: I just checked his store and he doens't have 9003 replacement bulbs, but there has to be some cheap ones on eBay.

How do I know their HID replacement bulbs, and not HID-like bulbs that are really halogens?

You'll know because they'll be called HID replacement bulbs, not HID halogen bulbs.

Here's a cheap set on eBay: HID Replacement Bulbs
