First off---why post a link for your car for sale and not answer or address any of the other concerns?

Also, I thought it was against the "rules" to post an ebay link......

Nothing wrong with a new bmw for a first car if you (your parents) can afford it. Fun, safe car.

damn. I paid $3000 to get my goddamn license, im going be 20 this year and I DONT HAVE A FUCKING CAR!!!!

Your sister better take care of her beemer well, or I'd be pissed!!...lol

Driving in the states is so goddamn easy, where as in Japan, you have to be prepared every single second.

BTW, I still dont understand getting a same car....especially the BMW 3-series. I've seen TOOOOO many E90 3 series in Tokyo, that it just doesnt look great anymore. Its one of better Bangle design but yet....still bland and boring. l If i were your dad, I'd rather get a Maserati Coupe or Spyder. They are faster, cooler, stylish, and exhaust note to die for!! and get your sister a Civic or something cheap but reliable.

But, I am fairly certain that I would not get him anything brand new for a first car. It does take time to become acclimated to today's driving environment. A basic reliable car with auto/air should be the most a new driver should have....that is until they gain experience.
I would go with an 04 LX Accord sedan. I can't remember if it was 04 or 05 that got the side and side curtain airbags standard. Do you want him driving AT so that he learns the rules of the road first before having to learn a transmission?

Whatever you get him, make sure it has those. The reason I'd go with a 7G Accord is that they are the most fuel efficient midsize sedan.

Most of them have taken a beating as well for being spoiled little kids. Just admit it with a smile

hey I am just jealous, but I am also not going to get my daughters a 40k car when they are just getting their license. To each their own

A coworker of mine just bought her daughter a brand new 06 Civic, granted it's not 3 series, but it's still a brand new car at 16. She has alread put 3 dents in it and it's all scratched up. She's had it about 4 months.

It has nothing to do with jealousy or being spoiled or how much money you have. It's about learning reponsibility, experiance behind the wheel, and respecting just how nice some things are when they aren't just handed to you.

If it makes you feel any better, my father officially gave the 330i to me. I am home in south Florida and drove it tonight for about 5 miles. The 330i is AMAZING and I will take good care of it like I did with my G35. I am one lucky blessed son of a bitch. Here are 2 teaser pictures I took. I will drive the car more tomorrow and take a ton of pictures. The stuff you can do with I drive is very cool and I know how to use the whole system after spending 20 minutes playing with it.

$1,164 is ok. Considering the residualsm you might have pushed the 325 down to $400 sing & drive, and the 330 to $500 sing & drive.

That makes 954/month with taxes.

12k miles is good. And with free maintenance, you just take care of the payments, insurance and gas.

My parents gave me a pretty decent first car. I know that if I am well enough off, I would buy my kids the most expensive car I could comfortably afford for them, as long as their grades are good, and they dont play other games.

Why buy two of the same? I would have bought one 330 (of course) and an Acura.
