Anybody ever drive one of these? How are they?

You are not looking for power if I'm correct. It seems like a good car for what you want. AWD for wonderful NYC winters , 4 doors for the family and when wifey isn't paying attention you can do some nice engine mods to it. Like CG said...TURBO !!

 

Subaru should have turbos standard just like AWD.

 

The new Legacy GT does, in fact, have the 250hp turbo engine as standard. Also, having owned an outback with the 165hp boxer for the past eight years(wife's car), I would not call it underpowered-it's no stoplight racer but there's plenty of torque for normal driving and passing.

My only complaint about the Subie is that it has been too good of a car. I would like to give my RX330 to my wife and get an RL or G35x but I hate to part with the Outback.

 

the new one runs low 14's out of the crate.
