He tells me to have the garage where it's parked go over it and give me a report. Um, I believe I was born on a Saturday, but it wasn't yesterday.

Is this guy serious. Luckily it sounds like you guys don't think it's a good deal anyway.
Walk away. Fast.

Seriously, who sells a Porsche at a gas station anyway. That's where you dump old Camrys you want to unload.

Exactly what I'm thinking. I'm starting to think the guy who owns the car also owns the gas station and the guy I spoke to at the station is just a worker bee pretending to be the owner.

It is a high money area that gets a lot of traffic.

But with the right wheels ...

I think I just made a mess in my boxers.

With that attitude, it'd be amazing if that car ever gets sold. No loss for you, patience will pay off

Ah well while we're talking Caymans, here's a little vid clip to enjoy. 2007 Cayman S with a Borla XR-1 race exhaust. Right about 1:25 is where the reeal deliciousness begins.

You've been NSXNEXT for 10 years.. time to get that NSX! Or at least step it up for a 997.

The older ones. Supposedly the 2006+ Caymans got their RMS and IMS issues fixed. Most of the concern comes from earlier Boxsters that had catastrophic engine failure from rear main seal leaks.

That said, Porsche really screwed the pooch on the early 986s.

And let's not forget the "D-chunk" failure in the early M96 engines, where excessive porosity in the crankcase halves caused entire hunks of cylinder wall to break off.

There are usually a ton here, but there is a lot of variety in mostly older and some newer.

I would rather have a Cayman S than a 2003 911. I just find that vintage 911 to be visually boring and what's the point of buying a sports car if you hate to look at it?

I have only a few requirements....

Under ~$35K (I refuse to take out a loan...if I can't afford to pay cash it ain't gonna happen)
Would love something with a somewhat usable back seat (for small kids) obviously that rules out the Vette but I'm still open to it.

For those that keep saying NSX, show me something under $35K that either doesn't have a gazillion miles or is 15 years old.

Yes, that rules out the Cayman and Boxster too, while most versions of the 911 have vestigial rear seats.

FWIW, the C5 and C6 also have much more trunk & cargo room than the 2-seater Porsches.

See, this is a perfect opportunity for you to get a car with no back seats and then your wife has to be the one to pick up the kids all the time (so you can grab a quick beer with the fellas at happy hour after work) because you have no back seats!

Obvious I'm not married? LOL

Sounds like the ingredients for an e46 M3, e90 335i, or an Infiniti G37.

A 911 is right up your alley Depending on your definition of "back seat". If I were you, I'd stick with the air-cooled ones.

I know this is a completely different taste, but what about a used GT500? Back seat, power, and probably under $35k. Just an option.

You could also look at the SLK AMG or M coupe, but neither has backseats. Would a 135i be too everyday for you?

All I saw was "GT" and thought this. Wouldn't that be nice.

What did that car cost new? The reason I ask is people are still asking $190k for four year old used ones.

If I had $190k to spend on a car, I'm not getting a GT ... R8 V10, V12 Vantage, I dunno what ... Not a GT though.

That would be my wife's reaction as well. She'd charliemike. Then she'd release our four-year-old on him.

Can't argue with you there. I was just looking on NSXPrime and couldn't find any that meet those criteria.

Yes, all over the map but my brother is going to be able to get me his GM discount on this one. We just have to wait until it's available through his program which is fine since it's winter and I don't see driving it ever in the snow. They think he'll get me under invoice.

Has a usable backseat, manual tranny, and the V8 in the 2SS is Like the idea of buying new but most of the cars on my list were too much new (Vette, Porsche)

Thinking Inferno Orange with the white racing stripes (couldn't find a pic).
