my girl has a civic and im not to familair with them. i was curious if anyone knew what would be the best manual transmission fluid she could buy for the best performance and reliability of the tranny. i know this is a lil off topic with TL's " i have 1" im going to try the GM syncromesh in october
heard great things about it, but yeah what u guys think would be the best? thank so much for input!

Stick with Honda MTF... Of all the forums I've been on, the general perception that I got was you should stick with Honda tranny fluids in general. I've seen quite a few cases where ppl were having issues with the tranny not shifting well when using other tranny fluids, but once they switched back to Honda, it's all good again..

put in Cenpeco. you can run it in any car or truck.

I've ran Cenpeco in my semis transmissions. my transmission shift smoother, runs cooler. I'm not running Cenpeco motor oil, tranny fluid, rear end fluid, and grease in all engines and trucks on the farm. i've tore one engine down since putting Cenpeco in it and the bearings look great.
plus depending on what on how much you buy. i get it for 15 bucks a gallon for motor oil. but you gotta get it through an authorized Cenpeco dealer.

And you wouldn't know the first thing about how a bearing should look.
I really don't see any reason to switch, especially at this point in the game.... A car of that age --- my consensus would be: if it's runny smoothly and it ain't broke.. don't mess with it. If Honda MTF has been doing its job, I'd stick with it.
you know how many engine tear downs i've done. only thing i don't do on rebuilds is boreing due to we don't have the machine to do it. i rebuilt the Cat C10 in my old semi.
Yeah and i only build engines for Honda, plus you know how many engines we have on the farm?

You can't do "boreing" on a rebuild? Christ...........you can't even spell it.
Terry
what do you call getting little grooves out out of the cylinder wall. you bore like 20-30 thousands usually. i wouldn't suggest going more cause you'll start running hot.

Now you build engines for Honda...
water, do us all a favor. Go away and never come back. I mean why do you stay here anyways? Everyone here thinks you are as dumb as a bag of hammers. Just read the responses to your post in this thread.

You kill me. So you fight fires, drive a truck, farm, and build Honda engines too.
Damn. You must have 30 hour days in oHIGHo.
And it's spelled boring, and you are taking 20-30 thousandths off of the cylinder walls, which then have to be honed, to put some nice ridges in the cylinder walls to promote a good ring to cylinder seal.
I was raised in a machine shop. You wouldn't know an open end wrench from a box end wrench or what a "turny clicky thingy" is, let alone what a good wear pattern on a bearing looks like...
Let us think that you are stupid, stop opening your mouth and proving it.
