1992 Honda Civic EG Hatchback

hey everyone
Ima a proud owner of a 2005 Acura TSX
i recently (in november) purchased a 2001 Nissan Altima as a daily beater
now im lookin at a 1992 Civic as a daily driver because the altima is now lookin good and dont want to mess it up (also, im lookin for a nice project car)
ive found a DX 5MT with tints, exhaust, indglo guages, HIDs, projectors, headers, intake, AC removed, Integra leather interior for $1k

anyone here ever owned (or own) one of these?

thing has some rust above the rear wheelwell, any way i can fix that on my own?

also, where can i get some good kits for the car? (no ricey, fast and furious kits please)

thanks a lot folks

i have owned 2 EG CRXs, and rust is an absolute BITCH. I am looking into putting either a B16A2 turbo or B18C1 All-motor into it when i get back from college. My first, a 1990 HF, had severe rust above the rear wheel wells; the most common spot for the EGs.

Honda made these cars like tin cans, and finding one with glossy paint and a perfect body is very tough. I bought my 89 Si from Dallas and drove it up to Chicago (timing belt blew, had to swap a new D16A6 into it), and am very happy with it. Buying a mint body now would help, but your rust situation can be resolved. A body shop will cut away that section and form a new one, although it will stand out to an enthusiast or perfectionist.

Good luck with it. I would recommend a B18C1, the most well-balanced Honda motor IMO. If you want straight line, definately an H22. If turbo is what you want, a B18B would be perfect.

nice
im actually thinking about a K20A2 from a type S RSX
but my first goal is to fix the body up a bit (really want to do this myself), interior is all set, probably just detail it a bit and install better speakers
then switch over to the engine.

car sounds like its worth the money, dont get a body kit it kills the car... just do a simple lip and slam it... i've had tons of civic/crx's and the rust is a bitch on the 1/4 panels... im acutally looking for another project... i should be getting rid of my cl-s soon... im gonna get a 99-00 si or ex
im just gonna slam it with the vtec wheels or maybe the 04 ex wheels, tint, hid, and system... simple and sweet

the rust is a bitch but normal for hondas, sounds like you're set. I know someone in Elizabeth who has done numerous K-series swaps on bubbles.
