10 Lexus ISF vs. 10 Cadillac CTS-V...Opinion?
I'm in the market for a high performance luxury sedan...pretty much a stock 12 second car as well. These are my top two picks and not quite sure which one to buy. Both are going for the same price too. Probably will be spending up to $5k for engine mods and aftermarket wheels...mostly bolt-on parts.
What is your opinion of these two cars? Which would be more reliable and better quality? Maintenace cost? Which one would you choose as your daily driver? Let me know...later.

Wow where are you finding them that they are going for the same price? When I was shopping around they were about 6-7k more for a V which I don't consider to be in the same price range at all.
Would I have found them for the same price I am still not sure which I would have gotten. I love my F and I have had zero issues with it other than regular maintenance and I had to replace the battery which was 4.5 years old at the time anyways. I am not sure on the reliability of the V but I haven't heard any bad stories yet. The Lexus you know will be reliable for sure though.
Gas mileage wise if you care the F destroys the V. On long highway only trips I can get 26-27mpg. I think in the V you would be lucky to get 20mpg. The V also has substantially more hp though and that awesome supercharger whine.
I believe the V has a good bit of mod options. The F only has headers, exhaust, intake, and people are doing NX on it as well.
So it depends on what you are looking for in your performance sedan.

im a bit biased, since i have a 2010 IS.
test drive the 350 along with the F. The F is only really distinguishable in the high powerband. Everyday driving, a 350 could easily satisfy, but for much less than the F.
Personally, i would opt for a 350 and spend the difference in bolt ons, 2011 LED headlights, vossens, and a Wald bodykit. Or...find a lightly used 2011 350 with the LED package, and get the F-Sport bodykit.

I'm going to go with the F.
GM build quality leaves something to be desired. That hard plastic stuff will be the death of me.
Something about a V8 in a Japanese car does something to me. Something about "lets put a Corvette engine in EVERYTHING" doesnt.

I drive a Lexus and I wouldn't even think twice.....V all the way....suck my pushrods, assholes! I'd drive an F too lol, but I just feel like it's a car most people don't really care about....When I think CTS V or MB AMG or BMW M, the Lexus doesn't even come into my mind...

Hmm... that's a tough call. I really like both of them. I'd say take each out for a spin and go with the one that fits you best
There is something about that CTS-V Coupe though...

V-tec! I meant CTS-V! Physically, the IS-F just doesn't cut it for me; it looks too plain and not aggressive enough. Plus, the stacked tailpipes and bulging hood look out of place. The V looks like its on steroids, which I just love!

They do seem a little more similarly priced now than 1.5 years ago. Still if you find one with Navi and the Recaros then the price is not so close. If I could do it all over again and get one with a CPO warranty for only a little more than what I got my F I would get the V for sure.

I always enjoy the look on people's face when they hear this from a Lexus. It is a little more expected from a Cadillac than a Lexus.

Oh the IS-F is a beast...I'm not degrading it. But me personally, I just leave Lexus to do what they do best--luxury cars (I drive an 04 LS lol). They don't get much better.
I'd love to own the Caddy just so I could whoop all the imports' asses! "Take that" I'd say

didnt you just pick up your lexus a few days ago??

Thanks for all the responses...I'm looking to buy either one within the next couple months. I was 90% leaning towards the ISF until I saw the CTS-V on the road. So it really mixed up my decision.
Obviously, the V has more powerband than the ISF, but the ISF gets alot better gas mileage. Since it will be a daily driver...gas mileage could be important. I like both body style and both have a very refine/luxury interior. Each car could be bought between $40k-$45k ...if patiently searching. Haven't heard anything negative about either cars, so both must be reliable. Will be test driving both cars within the next couple weeks, but just wanted to get some opinions.
So far the V is leading the way...

Damn almost $1000 more a year in fuel cost for the V.

This is true. If you need use of the back seat frequently then it is a bit small. I only wanted 4 doors cause I never seem to be able to travel lightly and wanted the extra space. I rarely have more than 2 people in the car though.

CTS-V ALL THE WAY! I never driven either car, but the CTS-V is one of the fastest production sedans in the market... So if you're looking for a hands down fast sedan than go for the V. If you're worried about gas mileage than I guess you can opt for the IS-F.
Both are nice cars, I would love to own either one but I would much prefer to own the CTS-V even if it does take a few more MPGs.... Backseat of the Lexus IS is too crammed.

Interesting? Predictable maybe (which makes 100% sense since it's a Lexus site)... but don't think interesting is the right word...
