'07/'08 TL, '09-'10 TSX or 2011/'12 TSX
Very recently a family member was hit and had their Mercedes totaled. So I showed them a 2011 TSX tech and of course they were amazed and wanted the car, however it had very low mileage and was way over priced and I really wanted to get a good example. Unfortunately the dealer didn't want to lower the price of it as it had 22k and they wanted 18.5k for it. Anyways they told me they would be fine with a corolla but the TSX tech is really a lot of bang for your buck and I like the car a lot.
Which car is worth buying
A 2007/8 TL example with tech package, there are a few with 90k-115k mileage.
A 2009-2010 TSX tech with 85-115k mileage.
or a 2011/2012 TSX Tech with 97k to 125k mileage.
i have read online that the graphics for the GPS in 2008 TL and 2009 TSX are the Same.
I have also read that the 2009/10 is noisier compared to the 2011 TSX.
are any of these cars worth buying with such high mileage or should i expect major issues or worse ride quality.
All of of these cars are sub 12,000, which is all that is really willing to be spent.
what do you guys suggest? Besides the corolla.

I have a 2010 TSX Tech...
The 3G TL is better for sure. The only reason not to get one is MPG and overall footprint. If someone came and offered me a 3G TL with the same amount of miles for my TSX, i'd probably take the deal, but only because the TSX is just so appallingly slow sometimes. If all you want is a nice little run-about car that comfortable, care-free, highly maneuverable, and good at being crammed in tiny parking spaces, the TSX is perfect.

good point, sir
My 335 is definitely faster than the M4, but you just get used to having power, so it stands out more when you don't have it. I have to go from raging BMW asshole to putting on my blinker 5 seconds in advance and praying that joe blow on I66 or I95 is going to just take pity on me. First world problems huh? I honestly didn't feel this way when I had the RL though. I think it's a matter of having on-demand highway passing power and the TSX doesn't really have it. You cant just put your foot down and assume you'll be fine. It's great for keeping me out of tickets/jail though and for making people at work think i'm a humble, responsible human being.

I was trying to decide between a TSX (2nd gen) and a 3G TL when I was buying about 8 weeks ago. In the end, I went with the 3G TL, mostly for the extra 50-60 horses under the hood, with the understanding that my mpgs would be slightly (but only slightly) lower. I'm happy with the purchase, esp. when I'm cruising on the hwy. In the end, it depends on how your friend will be using the car. Pick the right tool for the job.
