06 TL-S or 06 Sti??

Sup guys as you all know that this winter has been a tough one for us New Englanders. I saw more snow this year on the Cape than I ever did and driving through all these snow storms have been a big hassle. I seriously am considering trading in my TLS for something with all wheel drive. I am not much of a truck guy, driving a lot to NYC and Boston is the reason why I would rather have a car with four doors than a truck. I am considering the 2005 WRX STi, test drove one the other day and love it. I have to say it is a little cramped in there compared to my TLS. I like the turbo but I don’t think I will fall in love with it. The seats are firm and so is the drive. I know some people think they are on top of the world having the all wheel drive and usually those are the kind of people I see spinning all over the road in a snow storm. Well lets cut to the chase shall we, I am considering the WRX STi and yes I can live with the fact that it is 6 speed manual. I have no idea if Acura is coming out with a TLS any time soon, because if they do and offer SH-AWD in it I would take that instead of the STi. What shall I do, shall I wait for the new TLS or should I go and trade my 03 TLS for the STi??

If you didn't fall in love with the STI, don't get it. No point in getting a car that you fell so-so about. Sounds like you should wait until you really want to get something.

Any STi will wipe the floor with any future TL-S. The STi is pretty much a race car with 4 doors. The TL is luxury then sport. Your asking a sure bet (STi) vs something we don't even know will come.

STi has summer tires, too. Not a great snow cruiser unless you change the rubber.

I think it's possible that the hp is a little underrated in the Legacy GT. Even if it's not it shouldn't be too difficult to sqeeze another 50 hp from it.

If you have to pick between the two ... one is just a myth (TL-S with SH-AWD) whereas the other exists. But like what others are saying ... why not look at a G35x if you're in that price range?

I have not yet had a chance to drive the new TL-S, but the STi is lots of fun if you like the rally type cars. I had an Evolution VIII for a little while, and the STi is every bit as fun as that car was.

^^ No there isnt one out yet, rumors are that there is one in the making, with SH-AWD (I hope). I am going to give the G35x a shot, thanks for your input guys.

Don't foget that Infiniti has a new M35X coming out....I think it's a little more expensive then the G35x, but I'm not sure.
It is a sweet looking ride and it's AWD.
I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at this car while your at the Infiniti dealership.
Let us know what you go with!

The STi isn't much for Interstate cruising, which you seem to be in need of. I would look at the Legacy GT and the G35x as already mentioned (the M35X is significantly more expensive as I am sure you know), then again if you are waiting for 06 then the RDX might be not truck enough for you, though it will not be available for next winter.
