05 corvette ?

I love the look of the new 05 vettes. possibly thinking of getting one. my question is, a buddy of mine was watchin motor trend tv and said its a hard top convertible. I doubt it is, but im not positive. i was on the vette site and it just said convertible and then the coupe had an optional removable top. whats the deal with this? is it a hard top convert? thanks

the top just popps off, but its only the portion above your head (on the coupe). the convertable is a soft top, sorry, no hard top convertable!

There’s a beautiful red 2005 Corvette that is sitting out front of the Chevy dealership that I pass every morning.
It’s been “taunting” me for the last two weeks.
DAMN those cars look nice. They look almost like a Viper from the front.
They have a couple of SSR’s and two 04 Vette’s sitting along side of it.

It's a targa top or a convertable.

Sounds like the Magnetic Red Metallic - looked at one up close (meaning I was in it for almost an hour talking to the owner) last Thursday with the grey interior which is a sweet combo. Local dealer is trying to get me to go for the Mag red with the Cashmere interior, but checked out the web and drove up to Camp Hill and found a Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, and that did it. That color is what the NISSAN Z and Maxima's should try to imitate. If I decide to go in that direction, mine will be the Daytona Orange.

Are you sure he wasn't talking about the Cadillac XLR? Cause thats built off of the Corvette platform and its a hardtop convertible.

Considering it ... CL is too new to be getting rid of, especially with it just now having gotten all the suspension bits and the Servos's put on it. Will be at 7 years with the "M" in a few months, and although I have no issues with it at all, this is the timeframe where I usually get that "itch".

It's a targa roof. Be careful about popping the top though. I had a friend who had a Supra with a targa roof. He cross threaded the bolts while reattaching the roof. After that the rooof would leak water whenever he drove in the rain.

I'd love an 05 Vette.....I would wait though....remember when the C5s came out....you never saw them on the roads....fast forward to 2000 and beyond...they are everywhere! If they keep them a little more exclusive.....maybe I might look into ont in a year or two. Then again, the 07 Cobra is rumored to have 500hp!!!!
