05' Accord Ex
05' Accord Ex
I am deciding whether or not to trade my 03' CL. At this point in my life I don't really want a payment over $300. This means that Acura is out.
I was looking online and found a 2005 Honda Accord EX with 14,000 miles on it. Seems to have alot of the stuff i want in a car (leather, sunroof, heated seats). I have been doing research and I have heard alot of complaints about the road and wind noise the Accord seems to be plagued with. Can anyone tell me if they have noticed this. I wouldn't think the noise would be much different then my CL. Altough, my CL is very quiet. The dealer is pritty far away so I just wanted some opinions before i made the trek. Thanks

I have an 05' Accord coupe six speed and have no issues with wind noise. I do notice some road noise, but contribute this to 17's and slightly firmer suspension settings on the six speed. The biggest complaint for me is the lack of headroom.

I wouldnt be to worried about road noise. There are to many variables that could have made that a problem on the car you heard about. Accords are very practical and reliable cars. As far as sound/road noise goes, different tires could help with that as well as in an extreme case use dynomat.
I say go for it!

Yeah, i test drove an accord coupe back in 2005 and i thought it was a really nice car and didn't notice any unusual road noise. I really like my CL and don't want to go down in features or quality. I will have to get over the fact that accords are everywhere and with my CL i was set apart. With 80,000 on the clock and a ticking time bomb of an automatic transmission i might just take a look at the accord.
The one i was looking at is the I4. I would really like to start saving on gas. My brother has a 2000 accord, which is also a 4 cylinder, which doesn't seem totally underpowered. I mostly drive in town and would really like to get away from premium. I wonder if the I4 is less refined?
my dad has an 05 accord 4 banger. honda's 2.4 is pretty strong i can tell you that. and yes, which is the case with most honda's, it does have road noise but turn up the stereo a bit and you wont notice.
