04 Supercharged TL

04 Supercharged TL
some good news, was speaking with comptech today and was told they have an 04 TL that they are putting a supercharger on. Was told it is a 6 speed car. They even said perhaps an aftermarket pressure plate for that car, which is the same as the cl's may be in the development stages, but no promises

I had an 04 TL as a loaner for day and I wouldn't go as far as to say its interior is GENERATIONS ahead of an 03 CL. It was nice and it definitely looked updated, no question about that but I wasn't blown away by it. Except by those damn gauges.
The aluminum trim in the 03-CL's made up for the shortcomings of that bowling ball trim in the 01 & 02 CL's. The TL I drove didn't have Navi which would really help when undermining the CL's interior but still I was more then happy to be in my 03 CL at the end of the day.
Back to the discussion at hand, an 04 TL 6MT with a CT S/C is gonna be .
Lets hope the car mags are able to get a better time then 14.2 with one.
EDIT- Why did u delete your post Matt?

If you boosted an AWD vehicle that has electric motors powering the rear wheels and an engine up front... wouldn't that give the AWD a permanent FWD bias and make it like a 70/30 F/R distribution of power?
Just wondering. And I know that the 05 RL isn't gonna be using electric motors.

So CT is developing a better device that will allow remapping for the ECU. I've also been told if this works out, that they may also consider making this new device available to upgrade existing S/C kits - to make more power and/or handle the HBP. I can only hope...

HAHAHA
all of you people justifying your car...
the TL is nicer in about every way than the CLS...
this is just like the BMW isnt better than Acura.
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight....
Lets just do some "off the top of my head" things CL vs. TL (hahaha)
Where's your all auto windows up and down? and windows controled by the remote? GPS controled A/C? dual seat heaters on passenger seat? trip computer? 270hp? (ya, wait until TL mods come out) 18" factory wheels (optional) Super audio 5.1 surround sound... bluetooth integration...
DO I NEED TO KEEP GOING?
common guys...

I agree with that! My $$ is being stored in the bank for when I purchase my next project. I'm almost there
Keep the CLS to get to work and get grocerys.... like it's suppose to be used for

Obviously, you haven't had the good fortune of driving a S/C'd CLS/TLS. It's a much different car now and I wouldn't trade it for anything in this price range...and I only have the auto tranny!

S/C CLS/TLS are fast car, no doubt about it, but how can those front tires handle direction and 300+ hp/tq at the same time?
RWD is much better platform in this case, since front tires handle direction and rear tires put those 300+ on the ground.. that is why you don't see any FWD Nascar or indy car..

No arguments here, RWD would be ideal in these type of applications however from what I've been hearing the car is more then stable when running the S/C.
Its definitely not an AutoXer but on the highway I’m sure its go to be a blast.

TQ > MPG
Silver trim > Cheap ass looking wood trim
04 TL > CL in just about every major aspect
More hp, better interior, MUCH better looks, no 4x4 wheelgap, better tires, better radio/NAVI/guages, more comfortable seating position, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, projector HID's, & easier to use clutch.
The only part that the TL is lacking compared to the CL-S is torque steer & price. C'mon guys, the 01-03 CL-S is nice, but the 04+TL's are a definite improvement in most aspects. I wish I would have waited a couple more months to see what the TL's were like, but I would have in the end spent $5k more due to the rebate & special financing of the 03 CL-S.

how come ive never seen these S/C arguments in a thread where a fellow CL member talks about getting his own S/C. the 04 TL and CLS have only a 10 hp difference. a CLS with an S/C is roughly approaching 300 HP to the front wheels as well

For me, my CLS's interior just looked and felt better overall than the TL's; especially the seats. As for drugs, I don't do them. It all boils down to personal tastes - one opinion vs. another. So no need to get into the attack mode.

04 TL interior is light years ahead of our CL-S's...the only problem I had is that i felt the seats were waaaaaayyy too bigg. It is wierd...kinda like when a little kid is sitting in a huge chair....like the alice in wonderland kinda thing. That was my only complaint. But, the dash etc...is so much nicer. For me...the CLS is a better "fit"...but is in no way nicer than the TL.
