03TL vs 06 Frontier should i buy the pickup?

Ok so i want a pickup truck.. I've wanted one for a long time now and I think that time as finally come for me. In all honesty though, I would love to buy a fullsize pickup for daily use, but I don't want the huge gas bill along with it. So what do you guys think? should I go for it? or hold on to the TL... the car is paid off and whatever money i get from the car is obviously going to be used to pay for the pickup.. i would appreciate any negative and positive feedback that you guys might have!!

Can you afford to keep the Tl and buy the Frontier? That would give you the best of both worlds. Drive the Tl when you what to save gas and the Nissan when you don't care about the gas bill.

Haven't you just answered your own question? You can't have one without the other.

If you really want a full-size truck then I would just keep the TL and buy a full-size truck down the road when you can afford it. Why settle?

Why do you need a pick-up? Do you actually haul anything? I just don't see the point of having a pick-up if you don't even need the utility. Function over form.

I had a similar dilemma - corporate downsizing meant no more company truck . . . So . . . I bought an RL - I can rent a truck from home depot for $20/day. Plus there is the "friend with truck" option for beer+pizza (Although usually costs more than $20 )

Well one of the main reasons I want a pickup is beacuse I'm a big boy and I'm gettin sick of bending down into my car. Another reason is that I plan on buying an ATV soon so I'm going to need something that can haul that around as well. I settled on the frontier because its a smaller truck and its better on gas which is better suited for daily use...

Just to give you something to consider,

Frontier is 4wd V6, Chevy is 4wd 4.8L V8, Ford is 4wd 4.6L V8.
So in terms of Gas mileage, you there is not reason why you can't get a full size. And consider this too, with the smaller motor in the frontier, when you load a quad in the back it's gas mileage is going to plummet faster than a fullsize.
