Anyone have any experiences with any of these two cars since more people look on this thread board I would ask here. I need to get a car within the next couple weeks since the cl is gone and these two fit my price range the best IMO.

Would an is300 with the basic bolts ons be any quick. I know you can add a turbo to it for about 4k, but heard it is a slushbox for being a 215 hp car. THis car seems like its really meant to be modded out.

The Audi 2.7t is 6cyl biturbo. I got some good insite from jimcoll711 but was wondering if anyone else had any experience with them. I have read about tweaking this cars enigine with a chip and it seems like they produce some great numbers with a chip. And all I have heard is good things about audi's..my friend actually bought an 04 a43.0 6 speed over the g35 coupe. And I like his car alot.

audi > is300

The 2.7T with a chip easily places you above at 318hp/382lb-ft. With simple upgrades like a larger DP, exhaust, Intake, upgraded fuel injectors, and a larger turbo, you can make a 420hp+ monster for pretty cheap.

As far as choices, either a pre-04 S4 or A6 will get you in a 2.7T.

if you got the dough to fix up a car, hit up the IS300 and beef that engine up like it's supposed to. However, if you're down for a stock ride and want to ride in more luxury plus fast out the box, take the Audi

I looked at the gs300 at first and they want 32k for a used 01, so a gs400..forget about it and a 540 is def out of my league. Im looking at cars around 22k-25k(max)

apples and oranges, the is300 is better compared to an A4 3.0

the gs430 would be a better comparison to an A6

p.s. if you don't need the size of an A6, don't buy it, an is300/A4 will handle much better

I wish I could get an s4 but my insurance would prob be too high for me and also thats another 30k for an 01

the gs' are too pricey for me..I dont need the size of the a6 but the 2.7 bi turbo attracted me to it

well my buddy has a 01 is300 that hes selling for $24k with 27k miles if you are interested. Its slightly modded to.

ill keep that in mind but I dont have 24k to shell out, since I took a hit on the CL-s, at once so I was gonna finance through a lexus dealer...and the interest rates on personal loans are out the roof now.
