01 IS300 or 01 Audi A6 2.7t
01 IS300 or 01 Audi A6 2.7t
Anyone have any experiences with any of these two cars since more people I need to get a car within the next couple weeks since the cl-s is gone and these two fit my price range the best IMO.
Would an is300 with the basic bolts ons be any quick. I know you can add a turbo to it for about 4k, but heard it is a slushbox for being a 215 hp car. THis car seems like its really meant to be modded out.
The Audi 2.7t is 6cyl biturbo. I have read about tweaking this cars enigine with a chip and it seems like they produce some great numbers with a chip. And all I have heard is good things about audi's..my friend actually bought an 04 a43.0 6 speed over the g35 coupe. And I like his car alot.
Thanks in advance
Any pricing info on these cars would be great too

The IS300 has good looks, very nimble, and a very good platform for FI. Although it's not going to be cheap to make it go fast, you'll have to invest a good amount of money for a good turbo kit and supporting mods to handle the extra power reliably if you're gonna use it as a daily driver. Basic boltons I doubt would have much gains for the $$$. While the A6 2.7T, also looks good, but it is a lot heavier and won't handle as good as the IS300, but is way more luxurious inside and out. Also with just a performance chip, i.e. an APR chip, it will make 318HP and 382ft-lbs of torque! Which is a huge gain over stock for under $600.
Now as far as pricing goes around my area (South FL) I've seen '01 IS300's selling for $16 to $19K with around 45K miles give or take. '01 A6 2.7T's from $19K to $23K with around 45K miles give or take.

thanks guys for the input...I want to try and find some 1/4 mile times for an is300 with the basic bolt ons..intake, headers, down pipe, cat back ect...Im leaning towards the is300 now bc I have found a couple with under 30k miles on it were the audi all around 50k+ miles
