I'm over 4k at 70mph in the Midget, but it's just a little 4 speed.
It's happy around 60-65 on the highway, and it's such a novelty that people slow to take a look rather than get frustrated at cruising a bit slower than 'flow of traffic'
My 2G was a tired auto on its 3rd transmission. Great car, but it was nearing it's end when we traded it in, the trans would slip badly [like a false neutral] if you forced a kickdown from 2nd to 1st, and it had a really bad hot start issue where it would run on 2 or 3 cylinder for a minute or so before it evened out.
wow, poor car! Mine did have a transmission changed, but it ended up not being the problem, it was the throttle position sensor… I had it from 2005 to 2008, bought it with just under 40k miles, traded it at around 130k miles. I put a pioneer AVIC-d2 in it, loved the unit, but I had mega feedback from the alternator. I got some ground loop insulators, helped a while until one died…

VTEC baby! My uncle still has his 1998 Integra type R. That’s a 5 speed, fairly short geared. I believe that car’s top speed is redline limited in 5th. Most other cars are drag limited. So anyways, all that to say it’s not a great highway cruiser
Funny enough, I don’t remember right now what the TL-S or the Porsche rev on the highway 70-80 mph range… I think the TL- is around 3k as well, the Porsche I would guess more, but it does have stupidly long gears.

'75 MG Midget, and since we've delved way off track of this thread, here's a photo of my 2 half-broken British-ish [Mini being part German] convertibles
I average around 18-20 in the G70 around town. Best I've gotten is 30 and that was coming downhill from the mountains. It's probably the most fuel inefficient car I've had, but also the most fun. My old 3G TL got around 25 and the TLX was amazing and routinely got 40s. Would still rather have the 3G back over the TLX any day. It gave me issues but I still miss that car. TLX was just an all round meh car tbh.
I meant to wash my cars for a long time now, I sort of made an attempt but needed to run out to the pool store first, that trip took way longer and when I got back the wind had picked up, leaves blowing everywhere and the sun was really hot, so I decided to just do the interior… so here are a few pics of the 2 cars that were home. My wife is out with the van (I know you guys are heartbroken)
I don't want to hear your complaining about it being too windy to wash your car lol. Here it is currently -18F, windchill of -27F, and the roads are covered in dirt/salt. There's zero chance I'm washing my car for the foreseeable future.
Edit: Also so incredibly jelly of that GT3. So much want.

LOL, yeah that is pretty chilly! I was just annoyed that I actually had some time to wash them, but then the weather wasn’t conducive. I should have taken pics of leaves stuck to it and stacking in the gully below the wipers.
Thanks for the compliment on the GT3, it’ll soon be 7 years since I got it, still feels so recent. The TL too, I got it before my daughter was born and she will be 16 in a few months.
I bought a 12v freezer/fridge that fits in the trunk of the Cayman.
quite useful. Used it last time I took a road trip down to SoCal to see @thoiboi and a few other non-active OG Azine members. Brought back home some frozen soup dumplings from Mama’s Lu
Yesterday I took the Cayman to Costco. There’s surprisingly a lot of room for stuff and could have bought a lot more junk
yes, agreed, packaging of the cayman is great. A friend of mine has a GT4 and he has a much easier time fitting all his track gear when we go to sebring. The 911 does have a good amount of room in the backseat area, but with my carbon bucket seats (fixed backs) good luck getting stuff in there… I have a duffel bag that I fit between the seats, and throw back there, I also put my helmet, but 8/10 times I set it wrong and it wobbles or smacks the seat if I even think of touching the brakes.
funny enough, for the frunk I have a plastic pampers (yes the diapers brand) tote that fits pretty well, that’s what I have compressor, my numbers (whatever remains that didn’t fly off) and all my other gizmos that I bring to the track.

It's cold enough here that every trunk/frunk is a freezer and every intake is a cold air intake lol.
but, even on the back of a flatbed, that S4 looks sexy.
Agreed.
S4 is back up and running - solder job failed on my fuel pump grounds and I didn't have tools to get it up and running.
Cayenne on the other hand is a whole other headache - it's technically drivable but, I need to clear it's "Keyless Entry Start and Exit Systems (KESSY)" module every time I start it.
Requires sending in my keys & modules to a company that will do surgery on the malfunctioning module in my steering column.
Shit happens I guess.

Thanks man - shitbox life isn't peachy all of the time evidently
Took advantage of the nearly 70F weather yesterday for a wash. Hopefully only about one more month of the winter setup until it's time to switch to the summer setup.
